Great Day, I booked the Microtel in Dry Ridge. It was a decent motel our rooms smelled moldy/old. The lady at the front desk that we encountered on Monday afternoon was polite. The other front desk people did not greet or anything else, so I knew it was a race issue. Our other issue was all three evenings of our stay we heard kids running up and down the halls. We went to breakfast on Tuesday (the older Lady in that area was the nicest I’ve seen at the motel) my grandson didn’t care for any of the breakfast, so we skipped breakfast here and ate at McDonalds across the street. Our purpose for staying here was how close it was to the Noah’s Ark Encounter and I’m glad we did because it gave us access to eateries and stores since my plan flopped. On Wednesday we walked out to get towels and I hear one of the young white housekeepers start to sing buffalo soldiers as soon as we come out now many should know the buffalo soldiers were brown. Although I’m brown and not a soldier I realize ignorance is plain old ignorance! It’s sad ! I know there are very few brown people that probably live in and visits this country town being prejudice or plain racist is NEVER A GOOD IDEA! I continued to thank the ladies for their services and the towels I received because we did not need any other assistance. I decided not to leave a tip because I like to spend my money where I’m treated fairly and equally. My tip is brown people will visit your town and you all need diversity training as it is called. Please know it’s ridiculous for anybody who spend their money in these businesses to be treated unfairly and unequally. All humans will visit this facility and all deserve politeness and great Customer...

Read moreI regret to leave this review, but my stay at the Dry Ridge Wyndham Mircrotel left a bad impression.
For those who don't know, Microtels are Micro-Hotels. The rooms are small and basic. My room was just big enough to fit a queen-sized bed with a small perimeter around the sides. My review score is not because of this information.
The first off-putting feature was the skid marks in the bottom of the toilet bowl. This was a little embarrassing, and fortunately my guest had a sense of humor about it.
The main reason for this review was my experience in the bed. Early in the morning, I woke up feeling a tickle on my back. I reached around to scratch the itch and felt my finger smear something—a bug. I stood up and went to the bathroom, where I looked at my hand. I discovered that I had smashed a bed bug that was feeding on me. It was smeared in my own blood on my thumb. I took a picture.
Grossed out, I took a shower immediately, then went downstairs to the front desk. I explained the problem and showed the picture to the attendant. She was polite, but informed me that there would be no manager on site until the following Monday (2 days away). I urged her to contact the manager by phone. She texted him. I hung out in the lobby as we waited for a response.
After some time, I asked for a status. I was offered half-off the price of my room. I was a somewhat offended that my photo of a bloody parasite was worth a discount of approximately $35. My disapproval was noticed, and the attendant offered me a...
