Friendly greeting, prompt serving of drinks, appetizer and food. Food was mediocre. The chips were overdone and had a bit of a burned taste. The cheese dip was very tasty. Very good portions. Good amount of rice and refried beans with each of our meals.
We had a restaurant.com certificate for $25 off a minimum purchase of $50. This certificate was $10 out of my pocket. Unfortunately the would not honor it. They said they have never signed up for that and had never had a customer try to present one. I pulled up the restaurant.com site and showed the rep that their restaurant was top listed in that area and showed her the certificates that were currently available. She called the owner. He denied knowing anything about these certificates. The rep said she was sorry but the best she could do was discount 10%. Then they added 3% of the bill amount for using a credit card.
I've been using restaurant.com certificates for 12+ years. They are a reputable company. I highly doubt they just randomly added a restaurant without some sort of a signed agreement.
Having been a business owner I would have handled this situation better than it was.
Not the end of the world but I feel the right thing to do would have been to honor the certificate because it was proven that the certificate is currently available on a legitimate website. Then management or the owner could look into canceling it or finding out why the business was listed in the first place.
Update: June 23, 2025 - I was very impressed at the response from the owner. It was cordial and professional. He also made a peace offering. I always wish the best for small, local business. I changed my over all rating from 2 to 3 stars and service from 2 to 3 stars. We'll definitely try again in the...
Read moreI ordered the steak burrito and it came with rice and beans. We also had the queso cheese ith chips. That was really good. My granddaughter had tacos and it came with rice. She said it was okay and that she like Taco Bell better. The burrito tasted better than it appeared. The rice was good and the beans were runny. I ordered a iced tea and I waited about 10 minutes at least trying to get the waiters attention because the iced tea tasted awful and I wanted to just get water. I ended up taking my drink to the bar area because he was more interested in speaking to another co-worker there. He finally checked on us once ( after the iced tea incident) as he was passing by but didn't stop. I had to catch him on the fly to ask for to go containers and the bill. Five minutes later he brings the containers. I waited patiently for the bill but it never came. As I was walking up to the counter with my granddaughter he started to make it out and handed it to me there. Thank goodness I am only passing through because I would never go back. And I think it was overpriced...
Read moreAt first, we weren’t too sure about this place since the outside doesn’t look very welcoming, but we are so glad we gave it a try! My mother is handicapped and doesn’t speak English, so Mexican restaurants are usually our go-to. We were happy to see this one open until 10, which worked perfectly for us.
Our server (who I didn’t catch the name of) was absolutely wonderful. Even though she didn’t speak Spanish, she went above and beyond to make sure my mother felt comfortable and enjoyed herself. We also taught her a little Spanish, which truly meant so much to us. She recommended the grilled chicken soup for my mom since she has trouble chewing, and it was perfect. I ordered her second recommendation—the Casa Fiesta—and it was so delicious!
Don’t let the outside or the slightly gloomy inside fool you—the food here is excellent, the prices are fair, and the service made this place unforgettable. That server made our visit truly special, and we will keep her in our prayers.
We will...
