Update May 10, 2023 This place rocks. Same levels of service and food quality. My daughter decided to take her friends for her birthday celebration there. Aman helped arrange reservations so kids can enjoy. Sunita, Rajendra made it easy and we dropped kids there. Sunita kept checking on the girls. Looking forward to try their new branch in Santa Clara.
Thank you Star Chat!!
'Heaven'
My daughter who would often refuse to eat Indian food outside, now wants to go there all the time and calls it 'Heaven.
They should get award for best Indian food in US. Even better than food served in India. Many dishes remind you of authentic North Indian Dhaaba food, being pure vegetarian is icing on cake!!
We first visited on March 21st when they had just opened and my daughter and we enjoyed every dish , since then we have become regular. Sometimes visiting twice a week. They have kept the authenticity and I still feel the taste as good as it was when they opened.
Anan, Adesh and whole staff is always welcoming customers , engaging them , taking feedback with positive mindset.
Best Moong deal halwa in the world!! Their Saag, Maaki di roti , Punjabi daal tadka, Baugan Bhartha you will not get anywhere. List goes on!!
We have taken at least 10 families on different occasions, from different states there and everyone says...
Read moreAMAZING food! I'm a Chaat food noob but I love it! I stumbled across Star Chaat Cuisine while a co-worker and I were looking for something different. I'm glad we picked this place as its a hidden gem.
First off, if you love vegetarian cuisine with robust flavor this s your jam! I chose the Aloo Mattar and it didn't disappoint! The potatoes and peas in warm onion sauce was a nice blend of textures, spices and stew-like broth. My friend ordered the Chili Paneer and that was amazing as well! It had peppers, chili cubed cheese and a nice level of heat to it.
Speaking of, the waiter asked what level of heat you prefer and that's a nice touch as some like it hotter than others.
We topped it off with fresh Naan (which was equally amazing, nothing like fresh naan!) and a side of jasmine rice. All you can ask for!
But there's more! The service here was excellent too. Super attentive and very fast! I was actually surprised how quick it was.
Lastly the restaurant is clean. The seating and table surfaces are all clean and presentable. There were a couple boxes here and there which led me to believe it was a new place or they just got a large delivery. I went on a wet day and I found the floor to be a little slick so if you go on a soggy day watch out for that.
With all that said ad done I can't wait to go back for some...
Read moreAs former regular customers who dined here almost every week, we returned after a 2-month break hoping to see improvements in the declining food quality and inconsistent service. Unfortunately, today's experience only confirmed why we had stopped visiting.
Our order consisted of Pao Bhaji, Rajma, and Saag Tadka. While we requested spicy food, what we received was simply heat without any depth or flavor - a basic cooking mistake in Indian cuisine. The dishes lacked the complex spice profiles these classics are known for.
When we raised our concerns with our server, Karan, he showed complete indifference to our feedback. More disappointingly, when we spoke to the owner - someone we've known for over 3 years - he dismissed our concerns outright. His response that nothing could be wrong with the cooking simply because the chef is from Punjab shows a concerning lack of accountability and unwillingness to acknowledge customer feedback.
It saddens us to see a once-favorite restaurant decline this way. With this level of food quality and the management's dismissive attitude toward customer feedback, we cannot recommend this restaurant anymore. A chef's regional background doesn't guarantee consistent quality - it's the daily execution and willingness to maintain standards...
