My wife Patti convinced me to come here to try their food. You see she has eaten their food three times in the seven weeks they have been open. She raved about it. Today I wanted to do breakfast and I am glad she brought me here. As you walk up they have posted their specials for the day just outside the entrance. Enter into a warm welcome by the staff and notice the spacious seating. After reviewing the menu I decided on two eggs over easy, bacon, country potatoes, wheat toast and one pancake. Eggs were perfect, the bacon was REAL bacon and it kept its shape cooking. The potatoes are flavored just right. The wheat bread was more than your typical bread. Let’s talk pancakes. I ordered just one to give them a try. Boy! I am glad I did. Out came a plate with one large pancake with their home made butter spread. That put the great food over the top for me. I love a great tasting pancake! Birdie’s Bristo is a farm to table restaurant. You can’t say that about to many places that I know of. If your looking for a new, fresh, home made place for breakfast or lunch you better come here! Check out the menu I am posting as they also do carry out and some catering. I can’t wait for coming back for lunch and a piece of Key Lime Pie!!! Thank you Shannon for the great service and part owner GM Amy for stopping at our table for a visit. Tried this little gem in downtown Dubuque Iowa for breakfast this morning. The bistro is clean, spacious and welcoming. The menu has a good breakfast and lunch selection. I had the breakfast burrito with bacon and the country potatoes. The burrito was delivered super hot, and it was scrumptious. The country potatoes were very good as well. Janell was on point, welcoming, hospitable, and very attentive. She frequented all tables for refills on coffee and water. I would recommend this local bistro, whether it’s a table for 1 or 6.

Birdies is a simple hole in the wall hidden gem of a restaurant. We were given a recommendation for breakfast from a local restaurant and they didn’t let us down. Both my wife’s and my breakfast were tasty and wonderful portions. Everyone is friendly, kind, polite and welcoming. We’re in town one more day and going back again. As I’m not from the area, I’ll say parking is 50/50. There are parking meters which I believe are free after 5 and some free parking at a side lot. We totally recommend eating here.

First off, I’m from Texas but I live in Oklahoma. My fiancé is from Dubuque so we come here every year about 5 or 6 times. So, I’ve been coming here about 8 yrs. I’ve only eaten breakfast at one place in town west Dubuque tap! Only it was closed today so I had to find another place so I looked up reviews. I agree, with the reviews, but it’s not better than west Dubuque tap, mostly because I go on Sunday always and I drink bloody Mary’s at west Dubuque tap and they always give you extremely big portions! West Dubuque tap serves one of the best bloody Mary's I’ve ever had! Anyways, Birdie’s doesn’t serve alcohol but the coffee is some of the best coffee I’ve ever tasted and I’m not a coffee drinker normally! I only drink coffee every once in a while. Anyways, I ordered the traditional breakfast, eggs over easy, bacon crispy and a side of sausage gravy cause I read review that they had the best sausage gravy that they’ve ever tasted. So, my eggs were cooked to perfection and surprisingly so was my bacon, which impressed me because so many times I have to send it back cause it’s not cooked enough or they burn it!! The eggs, bacon and toast were awesome but I must say that the potatoes were out of this world fantastic, one of the best potatoes I’ve ever had!!! I could literally eat them every day!! Wow, they were great!! Yum, yum, yum!!! As, far as the sausage gravy I would give it a 3.6 but I’m from the south, so I’ve had way better. Overall I’d give Birdie’s 4.5 stars out of 5. The waitress was spot on and the food was great, I just missed my Bloody Mary’s at west Dubuque tap!! If you’re looking for a great breakfast and you’re a coffee drinker then Birdie’s is an excellent breakfast place. I highly...

Sharing a fantastic dining experience and highly recommend Birdie’s Bistro. Following a challenging baseball tournament weekend with less -than- ideal results, my family and I had a delightful dining experience at Birdie’s Bistro Dubuque, Iowa.

Upon stumbling upon this hidden gem on our way home, we were pleasantly surprised by the warm and inviting atmosphere of the Birdie’s. We decided to have breakfast, and each of us ordered a different item from the menu. To say that we were impressed would be an understatement - all the dishes were delicious, but the standout was definitely the chicken gravy and biscuits. The flavors were out of this world. "Cooked and seasoned to perfection". The pancakes with the orange butter was pure joy.

Not only was the food exceptional, but the Bistro itself was impeccably clean, and the owner/staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Berties Café to anyone passing through Dubuque, Iowa, looking for a delicious and memorable breakfast or lunch. It's a true hidden gem that deserves to be discovered and appreciated. Thank you to the owners for going above and beyond for this travel baseball mom and her family. We are already looking forward to our next...
