Arrived around 4pm. If it weren’t for gps, I don’t know if we would have noticed where Red Sky was located, as it’s in a shared building with a realty office. We were the only customers when we went in. The very friendly hostess seated us right away and the waitress greeted us quickly. We started off with the Creamy Crab Soup. It was delectable. For our main meals I ordered the Shrimp po Boy and a side crab cake, Hubby ordered their Shrimp and Grits & Daughter ordered pasta with butter. My po Boy was really delicious and quite filling I couldn’t even eat much of the fries, which were cooked perfectly (crispy and flavorful on the outside, soft on the inside!). I shared 1/2 my side Crab Cake with my hubby. It was really good. Loved the sauce they had on the side. He enjoyed his Shrimp and Grits and said it was flavorful. The Cellentani Pasta with butter wasn’t Al dente, but my daughter ate it all. Quite a darling place, but a bit overpriced. Though they have a small kids menu, it strikes me as more of an adult eatery with adult drinks available. High quality food, casual wear, a bit overpriced.

Listen folks, I've been to small, hole-in-the-wall wood fired pizza restaurants with 900-degree ovens facing the dining area in southern Arizona in the middle of summer that made the Red Sky Cafe feel like a November evening in Reykjavik. I don’t normally leave negative reviews, but this experience was too frustrating to ignore. I actually sat on this for a day to see if it was momentary annoyance or if it was truly that bad. 'Twas that bad. From the moment we walked in the restaurant felt like the Devil's grundle—no air circulation, seemingly no AC, fans with all the muscle of a malnourished toddler, just heat pressing in from all sides. It was seriously uncomfortable, and not a great start. (See photo of me waiting for appetizers as reference.) It took nearly 35 minutes just to get our drinks. The water they infrequently served was room temp. No explanation, no apology, just silence and sweat.

Red Sky Cafe is an excellent experience. The ambiance is uniquely pleasant. It mixes a relaxing atmosphere with an old school rock-ish diner vibe. The food is a perfect mix. It maintains a modern menu while still revisiting timeless classics. Shrimp and grits can be found on the menu alongside their Tastefully Fit Bowl, a vegetable dish with southern charm. The menu prices aren’t low but they are fair and the dish balance is unmatched. The service matches the cuisine and ambiance, with a staff of attentive and polite professionals. Red Sky Cafe is most certainly worth a visit or 12.

This place just doesn't care about their customers. On a Saturday night, we were one of four tables on the patio, and each one had a problem. Sadly, we were the first of the tables sat, so we got to experience our issues, then watch those sat around us experience their own issues.

In our instance, we think our server just forgot to do his job, at least, that's what we're hoping instead of the alternate option of him just choosing not to do his job. Though with it taking up to 10 minutes to get a canned beer, on two different occasions, the work ethic definitely needs to be questioned. Our app took 20 minutes to get to us, and when the table behind us got there's before us, after sitting down way after us, we should have seen the writing on the wall. Shame on us for not trusting our gut and just walking out then. If we had, we could have simply avoided the unneeded drama to come, but sadly we didn't trust our gut and I guess just hoped to fill it instead. That hope proved to be a false one and then some! When our app did come the runner gave us 2 side plates for 3 people. We asked for another, she checked the nearby bus pan for one, and when one wasn't there she couldn't bother herself to run to the kitchen and come back with one for us. Then the entrees took forever (another 25 minutes), but we did get an update 20 minutes in (after we got the app) that my daughter's kids menu fried shrimp and French fries came up undercooked and needed to be redone. Not finished for some reason, but started from scratch. I asked how the cook didn't catch this before plating it, and we were told the cooks are students from Asia and don't really know how to cook using a deep fryer. Ok, that's concerning to say the least. Then 5 minutes later our food did make its way out of the kitchen. My wife and my food were ice cold, yet my daughter's was piping hot, but "not all the shrimp were cooked yet", so "more were on the way" according to our server. We got the "privilege" of speaking to the manager after sending our cold $30+ entrees back, and were met with nothing but a combative attitude from a manager who can't take responsibility for the failure that was happening all around him. I asked why the entire table wasn't refired when the simplest entree wasn't cooked properly, and of course there was no reason given, so they were perfectly fine serving cold $30+ entrees to save a buck over making sure everything served was 100% up to par and honoring their restaurant's reputation. This shows they have no standards except penny pinching and hoping the customer is dumb enough to eat and pay for their failures.

In the end, the manager was so delusional that he thought we'd return another time. This, after he came to us not to apologize, but to be combative. Ultimately, we're on vacation and thought we'd try them out. Big mistake! Not only did they fail miserably, they left my wife and I stuck trying to figure out where to get dinner in a pinch before everything closes for the night. Clearly, we have zero reason to return. After dealing with the manager, the decision not to return was a no brainer, and the desire to save anyone who would listen to do the same led to this review. Don't make the same mistake we made. Don't go here. They want your money, but they don't deserve it. They simply aren't willing to put in the effort to earn it, so don't...

Red Sky Cafe is garbage, and I hope to prevent future brides from having our humiliating experience. I struggled with the fairness of this review (I was by no means a perfect bride), so I’m trying to describe the experience un-emotionally and succinctly. We got married the week after Hurricane Matthew, but Jenn (GM) assured us that our wedding catering could go as planned. However, Jenn and Head Chef Wes did NOT show up at the event as promised to manage and cook. Our wedding planner put together a document of information about timing, rental details and special requests, and provided it in plenty of time for Jenn to distribute it and give feedback. The staff that showed up had NO idea what was going on, hadn’t seen it. They were completely set up for failure. Unprofessional and unacceptable. RSC brought only 1 “chef” and 1 bartender for a 90+ person wedding. We paid for passed apps, but the couple servers who showed didn’t have time to do that, placed them on random tables with no info about allergens, etc.. Apps were nasty; undercooked bacon wrapped scallops and soggy pork rolls. Getting a drink was an exercise in patience and perseverance, guests started ordering 2 at a time or spend all night in line.. We paid for a bar package that included mixers. They ran out before dinner and wanted a family member to run to the store. Champagne got put down on kid tables, bride’s brother had to run around grabbing them. Salads went down late and plates piled up everywhere with no bus trays or pre-busing done by the staff. Dinner was over an HOUR late, guests with little ones had to leave BEFORE getting fed. Kids’ chicken tenders didn’t even come with a condiment. Paid for a prime rib CARVING STATION but got a hunk of meat slammed on a table with no heat lamp and no carver. Meat wasn’t even completely cut through so first few guests almost pulled the whole thing down on the floor. Bride’s brother had to run upstairs and get a steak knife to put on the table. Shrimp and grits were gluey and nearly shrimp-less (despite the delicious version served at our tasting). Found an entire tray of cooked shrimp upstairs afterwards that had been sitting out for hours. A kosher dinner didn't get delivered; instead of asking the wedding planner where it went, it was left on the bar to get cold. They claim that the chef will continue to prepare food until the guests aren't eating anymore. This was a lie. The experience was so substandard and humiliating that we spent our wedding night apologizing to family and friends. After the event, the owner wouldn’t return our calls or acknowledge their complete failure, which was frankly a disgusting way to behave. Jenn told my mother “there was no way” these things happened, which was an infuriatingly stupid thing to say when she couldn’t even be bothered to BE THERE. Part of our package was a 22% service fee, which was not at all earned but not returned (shocking). Having been a server and bartender for 10 years through college and grad school, I like to think that I understand the difficulties in the service industry, and I’ve never been so disgusted. All I can say to future brides is this: they put on a fantastic show during the tasting and leading up to the wedding, but they are unprofessional, incompetent, and completely ambivalent to how their crap behavior affects a day that you will remember for the rest of your life, for better or worse. Please learn from...

Where to begin.(We had 13 people) Don't take an 8:30 reservation if you're not going to give them the same level of service that you are going to give earlier diners. we watched the other tables being treated with so much more care and they even brought a dessert platter to show the customers dessert options. we had our walk up with bill in hand and said "Are we all set or did you want to order dessert?" when my wife ordered a glass of wine with dessert the waiter had to get it himself because bartender couldn't be bothered. He was too busy cleaning up the bar Those are just a few examples. They took our reservation and then overbooked after the fact and took away our outside seating option instead of making the later reservations sit inside. Showed no cares at all. Mixed drinks were not good, dirty martini was swimming with vermouth. They ran out of a drink ingredient and then decided to bring two drinks to the table our party didn't even order instead. Also did NOT taste good. Most the Food was cold and while some dishes were good others were bland *scallop apps, were cold. *the scallop Capesante was bland and scallops were cold. lobster cream soup was cold and ended up being last bowl of soup they had. *they dumped the coffee before asking us about desserts and when one of our guests wanted a cup the waiter told us it would be fresh because they just threw it out. Sadly it tasted burnt, because they probably used the same grounds that were used on the previous batch. my son love the chicken tenders though. Menu options were not available, and when one of our friends showed disappointment she couldn't order it, the waiter said "That's what you get with 8:30 reservation." I watched their entire staff standing in the kitchen our food on the service table and no-one grabbing them. Which explains why our food was cold. Last but not least...... #7 if you're going to constantly touch your long sweaty hair to re-tie it, please for the love of god, wash your hands before you come to service the table. When the bills came we were automatically billed with 20% because of how many people we had. Normally I would have no issues with that, but the entire service by the over all staff did not deserve that...
