Wow. They did it again. I'm impressed. Just when I thought I've experienced all the types of Korean BBQ or shabu shabu styles there are I visit 9292 Shabu and am blown away by their quality, flavor, and execution. Came here with family not expecting much but was wowed by their setup and selection of vegetables, mushrooms, korean side dishes such as ddeokbokki and japchae, noodles, fish cake, and sauces. The part that amazes me is that all the veggies and sides are unlimited for a very reasonable set price. The meats are ordered a la carte unless you opt for unlimited meat option. Being that I prefer vegetables over meat I chose to purchase meats per order and was very well pleased with the decision. The sauce bar was very unique and creative since you are allowed to make your own shabu shabu sauce. Being that the veggies and sides were self serve and unlimited it made it very convenient and hassle free since there was no wait or calling for a waiter to provide these items for you. I like how each of the sides, noodles, sauces, and veggies had an english sticker next to them so non-Korean speakers could easily identify what the items were. 9292 shabu definitely seems like they have the winning combination here and is just another fine addition to their already successful chain of korean bbq restaurants. I hope they will stay consistent and continue to provide excellent service for many years to come. The environment is a bit loud with kpop and many tv monitors scattered throughout their dining area. This might be the only negative I could think of.. too loud and too many tvs. But that point is arguable, so no minus stars for that. Parking is plentiful, seating area is spacious, and the price is right. 5 Solid Google Stars for 9292 Shabu. Thank you 9292 Shabu and have a very...
ย ย ย Read moreFirst of all, I would like to say I was pleased with the serving size of the meat. My boyfriend and I were excited to try this place. However I was not happy about the service or taste. Told the waitress it was our first time and asked her questions. She seemed quite helpful at first, but when we were asked what meat we wanted we had to take a look at the menu since we didnโt even get the chance to look at the meats yet. While we were deciding she quickly rushed us, and threw the menu at us telling us to decide while she went to go do something else. It wasnโt busy, so we had assumed that maybe it was something else but the fact that she was impatient with us asking questions made us feel like a burden. When she took our order, she didnโt even ask what drinks we wanted or explain to us about anything. We sat there clueless wondering if we were supposed to go to the buffet area to get our stuff for the hotpot but proceeded to wait for her to come back and tell us since we didnโt want to do anything we werenโt supposed to do. When she brought us our broth, she didnโt even explain how to turn the cookers on. We were just clueless at all times even when we mentioned that it was our first time. Donโt let me get started on the food. It looked great, but there was no taste especially in the broths. Thank goodness for the sauce, but I had expected more flavor in the broth. Would not recommend this place, nor...
ย ย ย Read moreI canโt remember how many times Iโve been here before but it was definitely the first to come on a weekend. I took my family here for my uncleโs 75th birthday and a bon voyage lunch.
The prime brisket was a small portion each slice was paper thin! ๐ We expected thicker slices. probably shouldโve ordered two plates. Otherwise it was the same vegetarian options. The only difference on Sundays is the option for the beef broth (bone broth) and different appetizer foods.
I like the Korean kimbab (maki) rolls liked the beef and tuna didnโt care for even trying spam one. The California and avocado rolls were decent. The three dumpling options were good as well but they were obviously frozen and not made in the restaurant which is disappointing.
I usually put bok choy, watercress, ear mushrooms, lotus roots and squash in my hot pot to avoid non organics.
It was a disappointment to see a variety of fish cake as other options of protein. Our server barely appeared in the beginning and we had to flag them down twice, once to get rid of dishes as well as more broth. For $25/ person I would have liked to not hail down a server and more variety when it came to lean protein to serve organic tofu instead of whatever tofu they did serve. And also to have some organic options.
I have a very sensitive stomach when it comes to non organic veggies and heavy msg products. My stomach was killing me at the end having...
