We wanted to try tanghulu so we found this cafe on Google that was only 4 minutes away from where we were.
The fact that we didn't even get to order tanghulu.. my group ordered all 3 of their shaved ices (bingsu) and a tiramisu cake. We also ordered a couple drinks, but I can only speak for my banana milk tea.
We'll start with the shaved ice. It is priced at 9 dollars a bowl and honestly, its a very good size for a single person. The strawberry one was really really good, just a TAD bit better than the mango and milk/red bean one. Just your ordinary bingsu that tastes great.
Next, our drinks. It comes in a personal plastic "can" kind of cup. Honestly, it added a nice little touch because I can carry it around much easier and drink without a straw if need be. I honestly thought my banana milk tea would taste super artificial, but it tasted just like the Korean banana milks you get at the market. (Yes, I know those are artificial banana tastes as well)
Lastly, we had a tiramisu cake slice and a flattened croissant. I can't speak for the cake slice because I didn't have any but it looked great. The flattened croissant was a pleasant surprise. It's got the flakiness of a croissant except crispier, with a nutella finish. The manager? boss? was nice enough to give it to us on the house and I would've easily paid for one of these. Very very good.
The entire space was nicely lit, not too much LED. Cozy and comfortable seating where we were. They had two comfier chairs near the window that maybe I will occupy one day when I...

Walking into this establishment, I was pleasantly surprised. The cafe's ambiance was perfect, with music levels kept low enough to relax, work, or have a conversation without being drowned out by noise. One drink that particularly stood out to me was the "Forest Latte." I'd never tried coffee infused with pandan leaf juice before. The flavor was well-balanced, neither overly sweet nor bitter, offering a unique taste experience. The harmonious combination of oat milk, coconut milk, espresso, and the bright green pandan leaf juice at the bottom was truly delightful.
However, the fish-shaped pastry was a bit underwhelming. While I appreciated its flakiness, I would have preferred it made to order rather than taken from a pre-made rack. The pastry was overly sweet, likely due to the additional sugary glaze on top.
On the bright side, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. They even offered me a free tanghulu, which was surprisingly good. The sugar coating around the fruit was crunchy but not overly hard, and the fruit was cut into perfect bite-sized pieces.
Overall, the interior and food quality were impressive, and I would...
Read moreForest cafe was the backup place for me and 2 of my girlfriends and we are SO glad the first place did not work out! The food and drinks here was so yummy.
We tried the Biscoff croissant waffle, as well as the macarons (strawberry milk, mocha, matcha), the coffee (Korean sweet coffee, Forest Cafe Latte), and the bubble tea (Taro, Thai, and Brown sugar). We also tried the glazed fruit sticks (Tahngulu?), their main specialty. Oh we ALSO had the smashed croissant with Nutella and their little fish shaped pastries (chocolate and strawberry).
You can tell the owner and employees love what they do. Not only was every single thing delicious, is was presented beautifully.
The drinks, at least the iced ones, come in to-go friendly sealed, pop-tab containers.
The place is clean, well lit, and super cute inside. Even the bathroom is really well kept up.
This is a great place for a morning coffee, afternoon bubble tea, a cute casual date, or even a small group girls'...
