Stopped here after our 45th wedding Anniversary dinner. I was looking online for a dessert place/bakery where we could have something sweet after dinner. My husband and I are from New Jersey but have been in Georgia for 35 years. We have seen a lot of changes since moving here and enjoy the diverse cultural experiences that Duluth has to offer. With that said, sometimes we crave some New Jersey/New York flavors. Almost every bakery in the area is Korean, which are delicious but again we were hoping for a little more mainstream desserts. After searching online I saw this dessert/bakery which had great reviews. The place is quaint with cute "sweet shop" or ice cream parlor type tables and chairs. There were many inviting sweets in the cases but my eyes landed on the Lemoncello Mascarpone cake! There was also a Creme Brule cheese cake that drew my attention and initially that was my choice but I just couldn't pass up that pretty yellow lemon cake. My husband ordered an espresso and a slice of carrot cake and I ordered a caramel machiatto with a slice of the Lemoncello Mascarpone cake. The coffees were delicious and my husband's carrot cake was ok. He loves carrot cake and it is his go to for dessert. I tried to get him to order something a little more adventurous but he really likes carrot cake! He has had a lot of carrot cake over the years and they are all good but it's hard to make carrot cake specialš¤·š¼āāļøso this was good but nothing special in the world of carrot cake. Now for the Lemoncello Mascarpone cake (which is more of an Italian sweet, so I was excited)....that was outstanding and completely delicious. It was refreshing with a nice tart lemon flavor and the tangy luscious mascarpone cream was perfect. My husband was wishing that he had gotten it too š We will definitely be returning to try other delicious treats. I highly recommend giving this place a try. *Oh yeah, btw...I had read in the other reviews people raving about the salt bread and I had no idea what that was. So I ordered 2 plain ones to go. The next morning, I warmed one in the oven as reccomended by what I think was the owner. It was great! Buttery and soft in the middle with a slightly crispy crust. After biting into mine, I believe that they are intended to be filled as there was an open pocket in the middle. Doesn't matter because it was great. Next time I will try one that's filled with something or fill...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been to dozen of cafes within the area and I can say with confidence, Bread Museum is one of the best and my new favorite cafe. Once you walk in, youāre greeted by the delicious foods on display and the tranquil atmosphere.
I popped in just to grab a coffee but I was immediately intrigued by pastries, savory dishes, and drink menu. I ordered a lemon mint iced tea and two salt bread rolls, one with egg salad and another with fish roe. When I say the salt bread rolls were divine, I wish I was being hyperbolic. The bread was so soft and the fillings were creamy and delightful in flavor. The tea was brewed fresh and came with mint leaves and lemon slices, it was super refreshing and not too sweet.
The gentleman who took my order and prepared my food took amazing care of me! He brought my food and drink to me and later provided me a sample of their canelĆ© (10/10, absolutely delicious). It warmed my heart to have a genuine human interaction rather than just picking up my items at a counter and walking away. I will be back and I canāt wait...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place recently opened up and Iāve gone a couple of times. Each time itās the same adorable older man working. He is very nice and you can tell he takes so much pride and care in all of the stuff he makes. There are a variety of savory sandwiches and sweets with such unique flavors! The salt bread is very delicious and he uses high quality ingredients. This time, I got the matcha basque cheesecake and it was very good and not too sweet. The coffee is good also but does have more syrup pumps in the flavored ones that makes it sweeter than what I would prefer. Even being slightly sweeter, the bold coffee taste still shines through. Everything is reasonably priced and I am excited to try the fresh juices next time. They have punch cards to get your 10th coffee free and he gave me a free salt bread when I visited. I hope this place becomes busy and everyone supports...
