This is a new concept skewer hotpot that opened not too long ago I believe, came in on a Wednesday night and we were 7th in line (30 min wait). The space was vibrant and bright with led screens everywhere. It is ayce for 34.99 drink not included but they do have refillable fountain drinks unlike most korean restaurants that use can drinks. The slice meats you order with server and everything else you basically grab from the cooler and you make your own sauce bar. Right off the bat I can tell that this caters toward mostly chinese people, there is definitely a language barrier but because mostly everything is self serviced so it shouldn’t be too big of an issue.
Pros- they have unique menu items you don’t see at other places like fresh shrimp paste and fresh meatballs and seafood. Everything seems like good quality and very fresh made in house. The sauce bar is standard but they do have fruit, the grass jelly dessert and red bean which was quite refreshing. You don’t have to wait for service since you grab everything yourself.
Cons- the skewers vary from different beef sticks to quail eggs to fish balls but in all honesty they did not have much flavor and I wasn’t too fond of them. The best one was the original beef belly wrapped enoki mushrooms, you cannot go wrong with that! The table was also a little oily when we were sat, and the cups were also not clean.
All in all, it is a great concept, but there is a bit of a wait especially if you have a bigger group. Solid hot pot choice and very authentic, if you don’t mind a slight language barrier and trying new...
Read moreMy family has been coming here for years. I was worried that they would go out of business a few months ago (the crab legs and spicy beef oil soup base were gone). I’m so glad they brought them back.
My favorite food items: Crab legs - they are HUGE and always fresh every time we come here Spicy beef oil soup base - get the medium spicy if u like spicy food (Chinese spicy might be too hot if u don’t have authentic hotpot a lot) Crispy brown sugar mochi (rice cake) - definitely one of my favorite desserts! If u like warm dessert that’s crispy outside and soft inside u have to try this! Taro balls and sesame balls - they pair very well with fresh fruits. My son have them with ice cream. Seasoned fish paste, shrimp paste, mussels, fish balls, fish tofu, tofu puffs, konjac, Japanese sweet potato, etc - they have a great selection of seafood, meat and veggies. wish the fridge was refilled more frequently tho Crawfish - pretty good for a hotpot place Free milk tea - my husband’s go to is the mango milk tea
Service: The service today was perfect. We didn’t have to ask for extra napkins or hotpot broth refill. The waiters made sure we had everything we needed.
The vibe: They were decorating for Halloween today and someone put a“biohazard” banner on top of the sauce bar (lol). I find it cute that the waiter was wearing a ratatouille hat.
MLBB is definitely my favorite hot pot place in Duluth. The price is well worth it! I hope they stick around for a long time. Pls...
Read moreExtremely bad waiting and eating experience. We are the #20 (7people)to put in the waiting list before they open. We had to wait 2 hours (after arguing) because they give our table to a group of 8 people that are # 30 something. We ask him (the host with glasses on) why, he say because that is a table of 8 seats. We looked at it, and notice all the tables in the entire restaurant are the same size. But even tho, we are only 1 person difference shouldn’t we get the table first since we’re first in line? Then he made an excuse saying they had made reservation, but why did he call the numbers if they had made the reservation? People that made reservation don’t get a number! The host yelled at us and tells us not to argue with him because he is only going by the number orders. What kind of attitude is that? Instead of apologizing or comforting us he scream at us like it’s our fault. The hot pot is extremely greasy, not a lot of choice, the main dish when people going for hotpot is the sliced beef, but it ONLY comes with 1 plate PER TABLE. That doesn’t make any sense, so if only 1 person comes in he will get 1 plate but when we have 7 people we still get 1 plate? We got charged with 3 other plates that we didn’t order and they just bring it to us. People, please don’t go there because it’s a ripe off. I will go to Kpot with unlimited on everything for only $29.99.
This is not worth it. I would give negative 100 stars if I have...
