Kyoto Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Duncan

I enjoyed eating here until my latest experience. Food is not as good as it used to be and plastic was found in the food. They handed the check to me, I looked it over and it appeared correct (including the salad with plastic; pic attached). I always have the tip calculated before I walk the check up to them to pay. I always round up to the next dollar. I pull out my credit card, she takes my check and proceeds to print out another one. I looked it over and again it was correct but a couple bucks higher. I figured it was because I was using a credit card. I thought it was a bit odd since the total was going to be over 50 bucks but really not a big deal. Despite getting plastic in the food, the price changes, etc I still tipped greater than 15%. I wrote the tip and total in. I checked my credit card and it was charged one dollar more than what I wrote. Financially, not a big deal to me. Add all that up in one visit and you can see why it is upsetting. Waitresses and staff are rude more often than not. I have been served rancid tasting fountain drinks, expired bottles drinks. I have been served sushi that is turned. Sushi is my favorite food and I truly wish this place was better, so I could eat here, but everytime I try and give it another chance, they let me down, and this is over a span of 7 years that I have been trying to eat here and not hate it.

I just called to place a togo order to pickup after work. I told her I would be there at 5:10pm to pick up before I ordered. I told her what I wanted and she said it would be 10 minutes. It is 4:30pm currently. I reiterated that I need it at 5:10pm, not in 10 minutes, and the woman said they were going to just make it right now since that's dinner rush.

I do not want raw fish that has been sitting in a bag with hot soup, on a counter for 30 minutes. That is disgusting and the fact that they will willingly do that and tell me they will do that, suggests there are much nastier, unethical practices happening in the...

Tanya & Jo Claire and the rest of the crew are wonderful people - food is always fresh and delicious - Jo Claire is a Fireball of Just a great personality and A Good Laugh and Tanya is just so full of wisdom and love these two ladies always make me and mine feel like family - I can be having a terrible day but they always make it better by just being and doing what they do best - great food good prices and excellent service from arrival to departure- they acknowledge and remember all the things I do and don’t like - Jo Claire Remembered for me today that I didn’t like water chestnuts but I accidentally forgot to tell her but much to my surprise she remembered and made sure that my order to go was perfect- Great Job Ladies and Kyotos for staying ontop of great food and customer service - I Don’t Know What or where I’d go if we didn’t have Kyoto- Great Service & Thanks Again for another...
