Well with fond memories of coming here with my sister, me and my fiance came here to see if it was just nostalgia or if the memory held up. Walking in the service was nice, the woman at the counter was pleasant and to the point taking us to our seat and very patient with us deciding our order. The menu however is more or less confusing because even after examining for a couple minutes we were still suprised at the total when it came at the end. The food is the part that earned the review 1 star however. We both ordered Alfredo dishes one of which came with salad and we received table bread. The bread was the feature of our meal as the salad that came was basically soaked and inedible due to being very obviously not at all shaken dry whatsoever. The Alfredo at many restaurants as well as home cooking has a distinct taste and here it tasted not like Alfredo but homestyle country gravy. I am not sure if it was that it had flour in it or maybe too much butter but besides a small tinge of cheese at the end of a bite it was far from Alfredo. The noodles were thick and a tad undercooked, the chicken was drastically underseasoned and I cant say I would be coming back if not wanting to give them a second try for their pizzas. I'm not sure if their Alfredo section is just not very good but whatever it was we had a terrible experience overall. I mean when you order a ravioli plate and receive 4 ravioli it is fairly typical but they were pretty small for $10+. We will try them again for their pizza but I would not recommend this place. I'd very much like to see what they could say to this review because we did not go in expecting a bad meal but quite the opposite so we walked away a bit upset at the waste of...

I came here with my boyfriend and we loved the atmosphere and the food. The waiter did a great job of being hospitable and balancing customers. He made sure our waters were filled but didn't seem too intrusive by coming over too much, he filled our orders and made sure they were right.
The food itself was pretty good! I personally cannot eat dairy products so I got the eggplant parmigina lunch special without cheese. The tomato sauce was so unique and thick with pleasant seasoned-sweet taste to it. The portion was perfect for lunch, coming with a salad and roll. The rolls are very soft on the inside ans crunchy on the outside and have a very nice flavor that is unique to this place alone. Rolls were good with tomato sauce!
My boyfriend got the Cannolinni lunch special and he really loved the flavors. The Cannolinni has cheese, spinach and meat in it, topped with tomato sauce and cheese.
Thank you Amores for a lovely new lunch...
Read moreIf you live in the Southern half of Dallas County-Duncanville, Desoto, Cedar Hill, or Lancaster- this is probably the only true and traditional family -owned Italian restaurant in the area. It sits in a strip mall area but don't let that deter you. Amores Pizza and Pasta is Little Italy in the midst of the South! I had one of my favorites -the Chicken Picatta- and it was perfectly flavored. Not too tart. It had artichoke hearts which I adore! The rolls that come with dinner are light and fluffy with a tinge sweetness to them. I saw the pizza and thought I need to try that but I was getting full from the huge portion of Chicken Picatta. Next time because it looked so yummy! I urge you to try Amores Pizza & Pasta ASAP! Supporting locally owned businesses not only helps them but it helps you as well to feel the love of community...
