This was my first experience with Sistergirls' Kitchen. The food was great, I wish I had taken pictures. However, my food looked consistent with the pictures on the website. I ordered to-go oxtails, which were on a bed of rice, with greens, yams, and corn bread. The portions were very good, delicious and well-seasoned, and well presented and packaged for traveling. The prices were consistent with other restaurants seving similar items. If they expect people to dine in, though, they need to work on the table settings. Those smallish metal chairs are less than desirable. I want to be seated comfortably when eating comfort food. The service was good once I was acknowledged. While I know how proud they are of their food and they should be, allowing customers to taste and/or eat the orders they have already paid for and hold conversations about how great it is and to taste this and taste that, at the order counter, is not santitary. Whew. Let me tell you — this food was a M.E.S.S. 😭 SisterGirl need to hang up that apron and call Grandma, Auntie, somebody from the old church potluck committee because this right here ain’t it.
I’ve had better food at Luby’s — and you know they cook for the Caucasian senior citizens!
The turkey wings? Flavorless. No seasoning, no soul. I thought maybe the gravy would help, but it was just as sad. The cabbage came hard and salty — like it was mad at me personally. The yams were sweet but had no flavor profile — just sugar and potatoes hell I don’t even think it’s brown sugar!
And don’t even get me started on the overcooked sweet potato pie… chile, it was giving “burnt offering.” 🔥🥴
Spent $60 on this meal and the only thing seasoned was my disappointment. Maybe they had an off day, but I’ll never risk it again. I’m actually shocked a Black person made this — I need proof of lineage...

The restaurant is clean, cozy, and inviting. It’s the kind of spot where you feel right at home the moment you walk in. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, and she’s just as impressive as the food—kind, professional, and down-to-earth. We hit it off immediately, and I can tell she truly cares about her customers and her craft.
