I NEVER leave negative reviews. Go ahead and check my profile. Good first: Food was phenomenal, my husband is a seafood snob and said it’s the best seafood sampler he’s ever had. Cold water with cups on the patio so you can refill yourself which is perfect for the outdoor only setting. You go inside, wait in line to order, take your number, pick a table (outside seating only - good to know if you are heat adverse) and wait for your food to be brought. Ordering and getting our food was super quick. One of the cooks was helping the only server and was cooking, bussing and dropping off food in half the time as the server. Which bring me to the negative part of the review. As I’m waiting in line with my 10 month old baby in my arms she came over and asked me to move my stroller because it was “in her way”. There were no clean tables at the time to move it to, and I was trying to be polite and not have the stroller inside the tiny area inside to allow for more room for other customers. The stroller was on the far edge of the entrance blocking about 3 inches of the 4 feet wide stairs. It was the way she asked that really was the issue as I’m holding my child and waiting in line. All good, I moved it to a clean spot once it was available and then held the door for the same server on the way in. Thinking maybe it was just me misreading her tone and trying to move on. After we left we made it to the corner of the street, maybe a 2 minute walk and I realized I left the pacifier on the table. It must have been very obvious because I stacked all of the dirty plates and things (pre-bussed) for her before we left and the paci was next to the pile. I turned right around and asked her if she saw it. This is why I’m leaving the review. Not an ounce of sympathy or even kindness. Just “yes it fell on the ground so I threw it out” with an eye roll. I asked where and she pointed to the trash can outside without even looking at me. I went outside and retrieved my child’s pacifier because we are on vacation and only brought a few. The attitude of the one person put a damper on one of our first trips out with our baby which is already stressful and made us feel unwelcome. Maybe some people just don’t want babies at their restaurant, that’s certainly how it made us feel. Anyway, if you’re visiting without a kid I’m sure you’ll have a...
Read moreThe food was worth the long wait to be served. Character comes from worn vintage pieces to a wall fountain in the porch and garden eating area. Place your order and grab a drink from the refrigerator. You receive a number and wait for your meal to be brought to you. The Blackened Grouper sandwich was fantastic; however, the request for no tarter did not get read by the chef as the cashier definitely wrote it it down and highlighted it on the order. The Grouper bites were amazing as well, light, crispy and piping hot served with tarter and cocktail sauce. The onion rings were good. The hushpuppies were the best of all! Fresh, crisp outside, soft inside and served very hot! The sauce resembled a much better version of Thousand Island. It was a great accent to the puppies. During our meal, staff checked on us and made sure that we had all we needed and made a suggestion as well. That was a nice touch! Along side of the help-your-self water, there were several bowls available for your pup! Thoughtful consideration on their part. This was a great lunch area for...

Carvor’s Fish House is an absolute standout — one of those places you walk into and instantly feel welcomed. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly right from the start, and the food? Out of this world.
I’ve lived along the Gulf Coast for 50 years, and I can honestly say this was the best fried shrimp I’ve ever had. Perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful inside — just absolute perfection.
I’m not usually a fan of fish and chips, but their cod completely won me over. Light, flaky, and cooked just right. The fries were solid, the grouper tacos were fresh and flavorful, and the hush puppies were golden bites of heaven. The cole slaw was just okay, but honestly, everything else more than made up for it.
They’ve also got a surprisingly nice selection of beer and wine, which was the cherry on top of a fantastic meal.
Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Carvor’s is 100% worth the stop. Do yourself a favor and check it out — you won’t be...
