Actually I did not have time to explore the recently re opened Museum. I was there for 2 hours on August 25, 2018 for a special talk about Tiki Gardens, one of the local road side attractions that was present in our area during the 1950s to mid 1985 period of time along the beaches in Pinellas County. Tiki Gardens was a great place for so many people to visit, have a meal, walk the gardens, enjoying buying trinkets, heading across the Street to Fishing Pier Kahiki that was purchased and named Kahiki by the owners Frank and Jo Byars in the 1960s. A gentleman by the name of Joe ran Pier Kahiki for the Byars during the 1970s, he lived down the street, and was a man who enjoyed his cigars, was a colorful figure to visit with, when walking or fishing on the Pier. Dunedin Museum is a terrific place to visit. I will be back to enjoy all the new displays about the history of Dunedin and other places in Pinellas County that are on exhibit in the Dunedin Historical Museum. I understand that going forward Dunedin Historical Museum will be bringing in other guest speakers to share with the community about some of the special places that have been in the local area during the past and...

I recently visited the Dunedin History Museum with my kids, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! The museum is packed with fascinating exhibits and artifacts, showcasing the rich history and heritage of Dunedin. My kids were enthralled with the displays, which made learning about history fun and engaging.

The staff at the museum were friendly and knowledgeable, providing us with interesting insights into the exhibits and answering all of our questions. We have spent hours exploring the different galleries and learning about the people and events that shaped Dunedin's past.

One of the highlights for me was the beautifully restored train depot, which offers a glimpse into the heyday of train travel in Florida.

Overall, I highly recommend the Dunedin History Museum to anyone looking for a fun and educational day out with their kids. It's a wonderful way to learn about local history and culture, and the interactive exhibits are sure to captivate visitors of all ages. Don't miss out on this gem...

We took the Victoria Drive Sunset Stroll provided by the Dunedin History Museum that was very good. Our guide Vinnie, former executive director of museum, is truly passionate about Dunedin, its history and Victoria Drive. With his prior experience Vincent actually knew many of the families with property/mansions on the beautiful and scenic Victoria Drive of Dunedin. We learn extensive history of Dunedin’s early years, impact of economy , and families from Dunedin’s early years until today. This is while we stroll the scenic and beautiful homes on Victoria Drive. Thankfully, history continues to be preserved in this scenic area with homes on the water. The photos show the numerous historical homes along with a few newer houses. We learned a lot of history of Dunedin and the impact of many families over the years. The photos are from homes from beginning of Victoria Drive to...

A Hidden Gem Packed with Local History The Dunedin History Museum is a fantastic little stop — a great example of how much charm and information can be packed into a small space. For just $5, you get access to tons of interactive exhibits, cool artifacts, and fascinating stories that really bring the area’s past to life. From railroads to local legends, the displays are well-curated and engaging for all ages. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, happy to answer questions and offer insight. If you’re in Dunedin and looking for something fun, affordable, and educational, this museum is absolutely worth a visit. A true local gem!

This concentrated museum focuses on the contribution and history of people who have developed the agriculture and economic prosperity of what grew into Dunedin. I loved the displays and the interactive exhibit. The tiny gift area offers local folk art, silly kitchen towels. This is worth a visit when one enjoys a meal, concert, dance event, love music, or just a stroll through Dunedin. Accessible venue and entry, open door. Accessible van parking in lot and accessible parking on free street parking. look to city lots for evening and weekend parking.
