i have been riding my bike by this place millions of times in the past years (we live in dunedin and do almost everything on our bikes) always thought it was either out of business or under reno as it was ALWAYS closed! and i always told my husband that i could not wait for the place to re-open coz dunedin has so many burger and beer places, but not cajun food. one day a month ago, we were on our way to honeymoon island, i saw people sitting on the bench eating! it was OPEN! i was so excited! after talking to the staff, thinking it was new, i learned that they had been there for 3 years! (yeah their business hours are unique. it is a pity they do not work more often) we have been there 3 times since then. it is our new fav! love the food, great sandwiches, cucumber salad, potato tarts. tasty sauce. i especially love the setting and the atmosphere, and the fact it is actually a food truck. being chinese and having come from NYC, i have special soft spot in my heart for food truck and street food - i really believe they are the source of some of the best food! i love what they did to enhance the food truck, little details such as painted benches and chairs, crushed shell gravel, big oak tree even the fact that they have nicely set up paper towel rolls every where is just charming. and food portion is nice, beer is still cheap (for dunedin). 😝 and if it is not hot enough for you, they have all kinds of hot sauces on the shelf. help yourself! again, wanted to go today. but they are closed on sunday's, (and mondays and tuesday's!) i will have to wait...
Read moreThis is a small coastal themed .. Gilligan Island feel restaurant setting. It is nestled by it's shaded Florida canopy. The parking is suitable for capacity. You enter off of Howard. It can be easily overlooked (it has been there five years). The food leans toward a fresh vegetarian taste. You will not find allot of rice in your gumbo..your red beans and rice won't be seasoned with pork. But, the tomato cucumber salad will be fresh and delicious. The bread will be a compliment to your full size fish fillet sandwich (very flavorful and tasty). The pricing is good for the area. It is on the opposite side of the street from Eli's. Just a tad bit west ..up the street from the Skinner crossing on the Pinnellas Trail. It is owned by a retired military Veteran. They are welcoming. We thank them for their...
Read moreI finally made it and they did NOT disappoint. Took Friday off for my anniversary, hubby, my son and I decided on Dunedin for the day. We began here for lunch. It's a quaint little place on the corner of Howard and 580. Food is made to order so if you are in a hurry, don't be- stop, relax and take in the scenery in the outdoor seating area which is shaded with trees and umbrellas. My son and I had the Shrimp a la Creole with hushpuppies. I was never a fan of hushpuppies but I've found a couple of places that are not so bad and this is now on my yummy list. Hubby had the Gumbo and Muffuletta, which in my opinion is way better than the one we had in New Orleans recently. They have a variety of hot sauces so you can knock the heat up to your liking but mine was perfect. I can't wait to go back and...
