Anyone in the mood to eat your dinner seated across from owners that kept their dog in their lap in an inside bar restaurant while proudly displaying his genitals? A clear violation of Restaurant Health Codes. Once my meal was served, was there any surprise of losing my appetite?
As I awaited service with 3 seated @ interior bar and 3 others seated across from me @ the sharing outside bar. I questioned the bartender Ashley's failure to recognize a newly seated customer. I awaited her basic adknowledgement. I took into account her shaking a drink only TWICE in the tumblers prior to pouring. I also took into account her conversing with the dog owners without a mention to them of allowing the dog seated in their lap at the bar. I knew to order a beer over a mixed cocktail after watching Ashley's lack of cocktail mixing skills. I ordered a Delirium. As I'm waiting for my beer, a gentleman newly seated at the bar to my left was served his beer prior to her serving mine.
Once food was served, my appetite was gone. Who in the world would after viewing the dogs rear-end and balls. A clear FL Dept of Health Code violation. As a chef who abides by and understands the reason for animals and food- unless outside service where these guests belonged was indicative of another failure on the bartender's lack of professionalism.
Prior to placing my order, I asked Ashley two questions of which I knew the answers to. Are your fries coated? "No" from Ashley. Knowing YES they are. Secondly, are Dogs allowed in laps at the bar. "YES". Knowing they are NOT allowed on laps inside.
Upon service with a loss of appetite, I asked for the check after complaining of viewing the dog's genitals. Ashley chose not to ask for a manager instead giving me a tab for food not eaten for the reasons of FL Health Code Violations.
I paid the tab knowing I'd never patron the Restaurant again. On my way out, I asked to speak with the MGR who happened to be @ the Host stand. Justin explained that on NUMEROUS occasions they have asked the owners to leave the dog on the ground and not to be in their lap. He was also aware of the Bartender Ashley's "friendliness" with the Dog owners.
Does the owner even care that their guests are not abiding by Pinellas County Health violations? Obviously not after numerous complaints, understanding I wasn't the first to complain.
Clear Sky Draught House Dunedin has customarily been a star managerial wise compared to the Cleveland Sreet location. GM Nick is knowledgeable, proffesional and knows the business.
A restaurant loses a long-standing customer/Chef who is certified in food compliance who witnessed the outstandingly uncalled for failures by a lazy unprofessional "bartender" who paid allegiance to her friends that have been warned previously about the dog in their lap over seated guests.
Many bartenders are seeking work, yet Draught House chooses to employ a bartender that defies Health/Company Guidelines. While knowingly chuming up to friends KNOWING full well that Mgt has requested the dog not be allowed in their lap. The lack of employing a credible bartender that chooses a TWO shake mixed cocktail instead of a professionally served cocktail. Is unable to correctly answer menu questions, choosing to serve next the newest patron over an existing order and one who chooses to defy FL Health codes.
There are an ample amount of REAL bartenders out there that are seeking work and certainly understand and abide by not only the Company but also...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I came to try this restaurant out for the first time after visiting family in the area. We came and sat down and got a waitress, I wish I had gotten her name but she had maroon colored hair with a high bun, middle aged looking. We got our orders ready and ordered a drink to share and my plate of food. We weren’t finished ordering yet, but once we asked for drinks she asked for our IDs which is a green flag!! After looking at my boyfriend’s ID, she did not say anything and walked away. My boyfriend is 22 years old and I am 21, turning 22 in November. Oddly enough, she did not come back to the table as if something was wrong or to ask us any type of question. She kindly greeted the table across from us, and continuously walked by our table avoiding eye contact and not saying anything. My thing is- if there is something wrong with his ID, why not say something? There was nothing wrong with his ID anyways, he has lost a significant amount of weight and aged since his driver’s license photo was taken while he was in HIGHSCHOOL. Another part of this terrible service that makes me upset is that my boyfriend and I are both black- people of color. The general demographic of this place was filled with people who were not colored at all, and to me this was disrespectful and very prejudice. I was very hurt by this type of service and very disgusted as well. I told my boyfriend that we should leave as NO ONE deserves to be treated with such behavior. Completely dissatisfying and very disappointing. I am sure that us not returning to this place will not hurt the performance of the restaurant, but we will definitely not be returning or recommending to anyone. I wouldn’t want any of my peers or loved ones to deal with such disrespect. No one of white ethnicity would be treated such way or ignored for service, and I will not eat, lounge, or absorb atmospheric energy like such. Absolutely...
Read moreThis is a great place that is located on a main avenue in the Dunedin area. It is a popular place for locals and tourists alike, however, it is the hidden gems that are obscure on the menu that need to be highlighted! A prime example is the item on the menu that most "Rueben-neers" would want to know about. It is simply listed as a Rueben sandwich. When most restaurants in the county offer a Jewish style Rueben sandwich which is traditionally served as steamed and/or thinly sliced deli choice, they serve what is commonly referred to as a Irish style Rueben sandwich which is oven roasted and thickly sliced or "rustic" choice. There are more items on the menu that deserve your close scrutiny to ensure the most enjoyable experience possible. The food came to my table in a timely manner. It was hot, fresh, and cooked to perfection. The Bloody Mary was very good. The Onion Straws were very good but eat them early in the meal, they don't stay hot and crunchy very long. The Mango Coleslaw was excellent. The Rueben sandwich was the star of the show! Hot, toasted perfectly, the bread held up nicely and the texture of the thick sliced meat was to die for! One of a kind in the Tampa Bay area. The service was outstanding. The waitress Kaci was friendly, polite, and very accommodating. The leadership staff were engaging and sincere. The menu had a great deal of different choices and various different styles of appetizers and entrees. This was a place that I enjoyed eating lunch at. I suggest that you visit the place with a friend when you have the time to just relax and enjoy a great meal and great...
