I've heard good things about this place so I was excited to try it. Unfortunately, my experience did not measure up to others. Ordered early online realizing it's Cinco de Mayo AND Taco Tuesday. Order system said 20 minutes.
Arrived at the designated time, 3 people in line, 1 waiting for food, was told they would call out the names. Staff was pleasant. I sat and waited. And waited. Watched the people in line in front of me order, pay, get their food and leave. Watched the people behind me in line order, pay, get their food and leave. Waited some more. Watched people come in, get in line, get their food and leave.
I ended up waiting 20 minutes beyond the time food was to be ready. And...the food was edible at best. The nachos were decent. The tacos were overly greasy. My 16 year old son didn't finish them because they were so greasy.
I wasn't able to eat right away because the food took so long to pick up and I had other things that needed to get done back home. When I made it to my taco salad an hour later, it was swimming in some kind of water-grease something. The taco shell was mush. There were jalapenos (I had not ordered them) and the meat was chicken though I ordered steak. I was unable to eat that mess.
This was our first and last time eating here which is unfortunate because we really love to support local businesses. Just can't do it with this...
Read moreI have never left a bad review, until today. the prices are cheap, that's the only good thing. but the food was ugh. Went on lunch from work with co worker. I got 3 tacos and him a burrito. The tacos were pork and steak (actually just ground beef, lies). he got "steak") they up charge him for grilled onions...
okay so the pork tacos were dripping SO much fat/juice it was ridiculous. I know it's supposed to be juicy but you need to drain them well (they tried to I guess? ) but at the end there was still a pool of juice at bottom of the basket. now same with the "steak" it was dripping with oil, ridiculous. I was squeezing it and showing my co worker how much came out.
the ingredients are fairly generic. they don't have any unique flavor or spice. run of the mill in terms of flavor. even the hot sauce we got was meh.
let me be clear, it didn't make me sick or anything, it just was so sub par overall it doesn't make sense to go back again.
oh and any legit Mexican place knows that you make tacos with soft corn tortillas. not flour. that's an instant red flag.
my main thing is this. tiquana flats, moe's and chipotle offer a WAY better experience for nearly the same...
Read moreUpdate - 2022: Bad review. I went to the establishment to purchase thier nachos, and because i had to drive a ways to get home, i requested that All of the toppings that i chose for the nachos, to be All put together in One container seperate from the chips, so that my food would Not be soggy by the time that i arrived home. The owner was a real jerk and absolutely Refused to accomodate that simple request. I will Not be going back, and neither will all of my friends and family now.
the meat they use, in my opinion, is very obviously cheap, low grade meat. It tastes cheap. The steak is "chopped up" and looks like the ground beef for the most part and it is Soaked in oil. While eating my meal, I verified that the meat also tasted cheap. Step it up on the meat quality and you might get more business. It was very slow in there for dinner time. Hardly any customers. The owner will either take this constructive criticism, or he will Not listen and think his customers are stupid and do not understand quality ingredients. I assure you, we do, and that is one of the main things that will make or break...
