Barn Booze n Bites is a newcomer to Dunwoody and is the tip of the spear for a overhaul of the Village. This project has been a longtime coming and one that has taken many minds and seemingly an act of congress to create a town center feel for this city. Like many other nearby suburbs Dunwoody has lacked a central gathering spot that is walkable, social and a space to be proud of. The project has roots dating back to 2008 when Dunwoody became a city. Brainchild of this new direction came from Richard McLeod but many were involved and even resulted in new zoning to make it happen. Areas like Roswell and Alpharetta had become booming with great bars and restaurants that bring residents out of their homes to socialize and get to know each other. Historically the Village has been the land of banks, parking lots and convenience stores. With the addition of outdoor spaces and restaurants like Bar(N) we now have a reason to make the Village a destination to hang out in and not simply to be a blip of a stop when running errands. This is not the only establishment attributing to this goal however and in the immediate vicinity more are already in the works. It takes great courage and risk to be at the forefront and for that we owe a great gratittude. Bar(n) comes from David Abes and the goal here is simple. Small tasty appetizers (food truck always nearby for more substantial plates), whisky cocktails and community vibes. There is strength in numbers and having a compound of close options keeps the night flowing. We enjoyed the Dunwoody ATM which was perfectly boozy and sweet. The bar conveniently opens inside and out and when the weather cooperates the patio is the place to be. Im already excited to try more of the cured meats and other fine finger foods at my next visit. Obviously more than happy to have them here, onward and upward...
Read moreMy wife and I and seven-year-old went for her birthday. It's a cool place and though I had a beer, I believe they're known for their drinks. The service was on par and quick. However, there were flaws in two of the three appetizers we had. The tomato and burrata salad was really good and highly recommend it. Next, we ordered the tuna tartar. When we received it, there was a grey tint to it. It tasted fine and with making it myself numerous times, my surmise was that the tuna was cured with some acid. So the dish aesthetically was not pleasing to the eye. Plus, no toast point or crackers were included in the dish. Our third appetizer was the Asian lettuce wraps. The chicken was extremely dry and bland with an overabundance of peanuts. Sauce on the side would of helped a bit. Perhaps it was an off night with the food. I understand there are glitches these days and we'll try it again...
Read moreUsually when I have to book spaces for work events I fill up with an unreasonable amount of anxiety -because lets face it- customer service nowadays AIN'T what it use to be- but the experience I had with Bar{n} has changed the game! Samantha, my event coordinator was a total dream! The level of concierge style service totally put my worries at ease. She helped me through the entire process- from picking out what food to serve to putting up decorations- and was so kind and professional the entire time. Honestly everyone I met was super cool- from David, who let me in the space when they weren't technically even open (who was awesome to chit chat with) to Jesse- our bartender who made sure the drinks were flowin! The food was delicious and my work team loved every minute of their outing. If you have an event coming up put these guys on your roster! Cannot say enough good things...
