Had an opportunity to stop by and give it a try, I Believe I had been here before but maybe it had a different name? I am not sure. I noticed the colorful decor all throughout the restaurant; just a bit too colorful maybe? If I remember correctly I had reviewed this place before and I remember it being dark and a bit drafty. This is a nice change. I must say though, that the menu is overwhelming. Waaaaayy to many options being offered here. The font is too small and the options are too much! A piece of advice to the owners: pick the 20th most sold items and make a new menu with them, I can guarantee you that not only do you make it easier on the people to choose but you will make it easier on the preparation crew and kitchens staff altogether to offer good meals that they are going to be really good at preparing because the list is small. I say this because I see this issue too often and it tends to be the cause for a low quality of food being served because the cooks have to keep up with so many dishes that people may only order once or twice a day.
Enough said about your menu. Let's get to the food and stuff. We were offered chips and salsa. I ordered a water as a drink. And while we waited for food I went to check bathrooms. Bathrooms were clean but there were plenty of damaged things throughout the bathroom. No big deal. The bathroom itself appeared clean and I could smell it too.
The food was good. Not awesome. Not but; just good. Good enough to leave this in a neutral stand because I cannot complain about it but I also cannot say it was great. Just average.
The service is good. The waiter was attentive and made a few rounds to check on us. Just a small observation; the waiter and waitresses stand waiting not really doing much but from a customer point of view that looks bad.
Read moreYikes! What happened to El Jimador? And no, I’m not talking about the building falling apart in the front of the restaurant! I’m talking about the service and the quality of the food. We’ve been here several times but today will probably be our last. Our server, Alberto, was VERY rude. Not a smile, no greeting. Just get in, get out. My boyfriend and I both get fajitas. Fajitas Jalisco for him which were covered in grease and it’s like they’re chopping the meat smaller so you can’t notice how little you’re getting! Also the shrimp was falling apart and was too soft/mushy. I got the Especial El Jimador fajitas and the same for me, shrimp mushy, butchered and tattered steak and chicken. We didn’t even touch the shrimp and our server looked at the two (FULL) skewers of shrimp but did not ask us anything. Alberto needs to take some courses in service. He takes your order and then stands behind your booth watching videos instead of returning to the table and checking on you. Someone else refilled our drinks. Just terrible and very, very...
Read moreThe food was good don’t get me wrong. However out of the multiple Mexican food restraints in the area this one is my least favorite.
We where created professionally and where expedited to the table. Presentation was nice and clean. Our waiter was on top of getting our orders and fulfilling.
The environment was a bit chaotic and super noisy. Lots of shuffling back and forth. Food when served seemed ‘thin’ or ‘lacking’ given a $12 plate of nachos. Which I felt was a bit on the high side. The shrimp where not cold bit they where not hot either. The tropical fajitas where impressive - maybe I just ordered the wrong dish.
Not that I am hating on this place we will probably visit again. It would not be my place of choice if I where in the drivers...
