Need a little more zen in your life? South Durhamites, you are in luck! ZenFish's third store is finally open near Southpoint!! They're located right next to Milk Lab in the Sprouts shopping center on 54. They don't have a sign yet but you'll be able see their rainbow fish through the windows!
If you've been to their Morrisville and Durham locations, you know they serve the best poké in the Triangle! My personal favorite is build your own bowl with house tuna and ahi tuna with brown rice. They offer quinoa, zucchini noodles, organic salads l, and more for their base. Their house made sauces are phenomenal. My favorites are honey wasabi aioli and sriracha aioli! Honestly, everything you can get your hands on at ZenFish is amazing.
ZenFish is one of the small businesses that warms my heart! Each month, they pick an organization to donate 100% of their proceeds of the ZenFish shirts. They've worked with LGBTQ+, Domestic Abuse, APS of Durham, Urban Ministries of Durham, and more. I've bought multiple shirts from them and they're really great quality shirts!
In addition to giving back to community, ZenFish works with local businesses on a regular for their ingredients, drinks, and desserts. They're currently working with Ube by Cha for their ube and mango jar cake. Y'all, get your tales over there TODAY!
P.S. ZenFish is a minority woman...
Read moreThis was my first visit to this place and also my first time ever trying a Poke bowl. I wanted to come here because it was highly recommended. As it was my first time trying a poke bowl, I wanted the best experience. However, that experience was ruined. I paid extra to get 2 servings of Avocado. From what I understand, 1 serving is one half of one, so I paid extra for a whole avocado. This was a take out order so although I noticed that the young lady placed my avocados upside down, I didn't think anything of it. I should have. When I got home to eat my meal and proceeded to turn the avocados over, both of them have various stages of blackness on them. It is clear that they had gone bad from staying out in the air too long or were severely bruised before cutting yet the girl still served them to me. Something that I had to pay extra for. How disrespectful can you be to do something like that??? This meal was pricey, so I was left embarrassed trying to scrape away as much of it as I could to see if any of the avocado could be salvaged. If an establishment is going to boast about their freshness of food, there is no way I should have been served something like this. If this is what goes on there, I wouldn't...
Read moreI am so excited that I now have a location of Zenfish close to where I live! I am gonna find myself visiting them quite often just because of the convenience of ordering (both in-person and online), parking space, and delicious food. I love their veggie bowls and am a regular at their Morrisville location. The food is so hearty and comforting, which is what makes me go back often. This time around, I wanted to try something different and got the veggie poke burrito and it was amazing. The staff at the counter was so courteous and gave great suggestions about what toppings would go well with the burrito. The added pull for me was the desserts from Ube by Cha (an amazing local baker). The ube jar cakes are now sold at all their locations. Do not miss it! It is great to note that this business always makes it a point to contribute to non-profits (selected by the customers) every month and also collaborate with other local businesses in the area. Their poke is also sustainable and they use biodegradable bowls and cutlery. They also have very clear markings for physical distancing and plexi glass for the counters. If you haven't checked them out yet, I highly recommend supporting this local business for some...
