Gluten Free friends beware! My visit started out great, they had a gluten free menu. That made me happy because I have just move to the area and am looking for a good "go-to" place. However, once I sat down it was another story. It took a while for the server to come to us, now on an ordinary visit I wouldn't pay this any heed, but it gets worse, and this was just the start. I told the server, like I always do, that I am gluten free, and he asked "celiacs?" Happily, and excited that he knows what that was, I said "yes!" Now with that in mind I pointed to the city wings because they were on the Gluten free list. He went to the kitchen to see if they were fried in the same frier, they were. I then ordered the Nachos not noticing there was an asterix on the nachos, this means there is cross contamination. Once I noticed that, I ran to the waiter and told him if it wasn't too late, I would like to change that order to the buffalo shrimp, pointing at the appetizer on the gluten free menu. He nods his head and was able to pull the order in time. I apologized profusely and felt bad that this was my error, and I should have read the bottom line. BUT it gets worse, the Buffalo Shrimp come, and it was NOT gluten free. We asked the server to double check, and he said that it was not gluten free. Even though he knew I was celiac's AND I pointed at a gluten free menu. But alas we forgave me and moved on. My Dad able to enjoy the appetizer while I looked on. We ordered, I expressly said this time Gluten free, and he even said he will talk to the kitchen staff to make sure this was gluten free. I was relieved that he would take that extra effort to make it gluten free. The food came out and I looked at the food instantly suspicious. It looked like the chicken had a crust. It looked crunchy. I told my dad, and he mentioned that the waiter was going to talk to the kitchen staff. So, I took a bit thinking that maybe I was just overreacting. I took a bite, and it was too good, crunchy even. I put my fork down and said, "this is not gluten free." The waiter came back and asked how the food was tasting. I told him that I didn't this this food was Gluten Free. He took one look at my meal and said "no, that is not Gluten Free, I will get my manager." He leaves with the plate and the manager arrives. He told me that the pate is on a fast track and will be shortly. He said a lot of things blaming the wait staff for not knowing and then BLAMING us for not ordering it grilled because that would have been "inherently gluten free". Like he was imparting some sage wisdom I didn't already know, while tell us it was our fault for not ordering correctly. Also, there was no apology with this bad monolog. He left and I finally got my food. It was good but I knew in an hour I will be in pain because of that stupid bite I took thinking I should trust these people. We ate and got the check. We had to pay for the shrimp that came out wrong AND for the meal that also came out wrong. Nothing was compt. I was expecting the shrimp that came out wrong to be free or something because usually when a restaurant makes such a colossal F-Up they do something to apologize. We told the server some life lessons on how he might handle another Gluten Free person in the future. Apologized for all the drama and left. We will not be going back there because of their lack of knowledge, decency and communication. Their food was great and if you don't have any food allergies this could be awesome. However, if you don't want to feel like a she-jerk for standing up for yourself and your allergies or be blamed for not knowing how they should cook their chicken...
Read moreMade a reservation for 2pm at 1:45pm & decided to wait in the car until it was time to be seated. Proceeded to walk in at 1:55pm & was told our table still needed to be cleaned. Once we got to the table it was not entirely cleaned as there were still food particles. We were greeted by someone as they walked by to tend to another table. Our server (someone other then who greeted us) then stopped by to take our drink order. Which was 2 waters, a margarita, sprite & chocolate milk. It was 30 mins after sitting that we received those drinks. During those 30 mins we witnessed our server upsetting a neighboring table as the server was in the back on their phone according to the women from the table. It appeared they were completely checked out however they were still waiting for their server & she was highly upset to find them on their phone instead of working. Once we received our drinks we asked questions about the menu such as what fish the fish & chips were & was told salmon. We decided to order the pretzle sticks for an appetizer & for our childrens food to come together. Only for french fries to come out prior to anything else. Our kids ordered boneless wings with buffalo sauce, yet they came out plain. Therefore we received side sauces for them to dip. I ordered the salmon with green beans & rice. My husband order the fish & chips only 2 pieces of fish with a lime instead of a lemon. Which was strange to me considering it was displayed online from others with 4 pieces. I had order an additional side with my meal that was never ordered by the server. We had dirty dishes on our table longer then should be which made it difficult to enjoy our meal as I felt we were overwhelmed with plates instead of enjoying space as we were a 4 top sitting at a 6 top table. Unfortunately I was not impressed for a 1st time experience, I will not be in a hurry to return. I understand that the server was fairly new on the job but to say fish & chips is salmon. Clearly shows that he was not trained in properly. I hope your establishment does a better job of assisting those that are not as experienced instead of letting them fail. I was highly disappointed in the assistance he received as it was only one other women that helped him. She could not have been more helpful, attentive & kind.
Hopefully we will give this place another try but not...
Read moreIf I could give less than a star I would. This was an absolute disappointment. We arrived and there was hardly clientele. The man at the door promptly seated us, 5 adults with 2 babies. It was 15 minutes before we were asked about beverages. Another 15 before we were asked what we would like to order. 2 soups and an appetizer were put in. Along with the rest of the entrees, 2 burgers, 2 salads, and chicken Alfredo. It was 45 minutes before the 2 soups and app came out. By then, beverages around the table were nearly deplenished yet no refills were offered or gotten. We are now an hour and 15 minutes into our visit, we've had a single beverage per person 1 app and 2 soups delivered to the table. The bartender notices multiple empty glasses on the table and comes over and gets us refills. Another near 30 minutes pass, we ask the waiter where the food is. Suddenly it comes out in the next 5-10. Neither burger is terribly warm to where the cheese isn't even hardly melted, it's just softened and the meat of it was bland. The alfredo has only the faint taste of the char from the chicken in it. Salads were fine. We ask for boxes and the bill, without more than a couple bites of each dish everything is taken to go. The babies want to spend no longer here more than the 2 hours they have already spent in the restaurant. The bills are brought, it is asked what took so long since there were multiple people who arrived after our table and received their orders prior to ours. The waiter says it must have been the handheld POS system and he will have to let his IT people know. One of our group tried to pay her bill with cash and asked for change, instead of bringing the change that would have been left after the bill. The waiter breaks the bill and returns the same amount of cash to the person. There were no apologies for the time wasted waiting. No discounts offered off the bills. Just a look of disgust given when there was no tip noticed. Only once were we visited beside from ordering and asked how things tasted, right after the apps were delivered. Every other interaction, though still very few, we had to get the attention of the staff member...
