Following up to Gabriel gomez rey's review.. i personally assisted you with that call, and kindly tried to work with you, you mention that had a jalisco and claimed that nobody else got sick.. despite beign more jaliscos served across.. i personally refused to argue when i could have answered in a factual way that it takes 48 to 72 hours to get food poisining symptoms in you system, so i voted to offer you a second chance at us to order something diffrent off the menu at no cost, and i also offered your money back and to cover medical expenses with your ticket witch you claimed to had still have, and a doctors statement for food poisoning, if i remember you clearly refused to issue us a doctors statement because you where no longer sick after less than 24 hours and the doctor would not say that you where sick.. so for having severe illness how you claimed from diarrhea and constant vomit,,there must have been something serious and a doctor would validate your ilness but you said you where no longer sick.. i also mentioned that although i was not questioning your personal hygiene...a small detail could have caused an intermittent diarrhea due to not washing your hands, contact with money prior to your meal or excessive hot sauce...you stated that none of the above where involved...and after serving multiple jaliscos during lunch and beign one of our top selling dished across nearly 15 years we still maintain a clean record for food poisoning and any sanitation related issues...as a protocol i did mention that every meal is cooked under certified sanitation state standards, and everything we make is daily made and fresh from day to day...but we are still open to work with you and make things right at El loro expense and we will be open to any further claim you may have to address,, we will continue to keep serving our quality food the same way we have been doing for closely 15 years we appreciate every customer review to help us take action at any issue under honest reviews, once again thank you for your review and we hope to earn your business again in a...
Read moreI have tried this restaurant before and was not impressed. However I thought I would give it another shot. Everyone has an off day. I order the street tacos and after a short wait, had my food and headed home. Hoping for the best, I unpacked my food and grabbed a chip and dipped it in the salsa that came with it. Yuck!! The chips were DEFINITELY rather crunchy instead of crispy. Maybe even on the "stale " side. But I sallied forth and tried the mild salsa. I expected the mild variety to have at least SOME sort of flavor or kick to it. NOPE!! Flavor of just......tomato. Bland at best. Well maybe the beans would help balance this out. I removed the lid to the container and was instantly apprehensive. The "beans" seemed very well mixed as there wasnt a single whole or partial bean to be seen. But this wasnt what concerned me. They seemed rather runny. Maybe added too much water to them or trying to save money on an already dirt cheap item. I tasted. Another"NOPE!" No flavor. Lete move on to the tacos. I ordered steak tacos. I'm not sure where they get their soft corn tortillas but I'm not a fan as it seems like (as with the beans ) they are trying to cut corners here. Not a very discernable corn taste to them. That is as important as the bread for a sandwich. If the tortilla isnt good, probably not going to be a very good taco. And it wasnt. Steak was hard and crunchy on most edges and where it wasnt, was rather tough and chewy. I'm not sure what people see in this place except maybe they have never had any kind of mexican type food other than Taco Bell and they think this is what the real thing is supposed to taste like. I am chalking this one up to the fact that maybe they are trying to cater to all the "flower-mouth" people who may live in the area. Save your time and money folks! Much better places to patronize. I give the tacos 3 out of 5 at BEST and the hard crunchy chips, tomato-y salsa and water beans all get a 1 out of 5. This give the total over all score of a 2 out of 5. Taco Bell is cheaper and maybe...
Read moreThe food was truly lousy. And if the servers were attentive, they certainly should have noticed that I barely ate anything off the combo plate (#7 off the lunch menu) that I ordered. I requested a hotter version of salsa, and was charged for it. I ordered sour cream with the entree, and was charged for it. Seems a little cheap and lousy on the part of this establishment. The first basket of chips that was brought to our table seemed stale and many were broken into tiny bits. We later asked for a fresher basket which they provided, but it seems to me they were using our table (and maybe others) to use up the stale, broken chips.
The chili relleno on my combo plate was probably the worst I've ever had at ANY mexican restaurant. It was soggy and the batter tasted badly of freezer burn.
A lunch that included a peach daiquiri cost $37. Which is pretty high end for the low-end quality of the food we experienced.
One of my dining mates mentioned the fact that my lunch was lousy, and the woman who was processing our payments at the front desk couldn't have cared less. Didn't apologize or ask any question -- including a pretty standard "how was everything today?"
Needless to say, this establishment had slid into a place of apathy, with no concern for the customer. Even though we've been to this restaurant a hundred times in recent years, we WON'T be coming back. And I'm pretty sure they won't care about that either. Or take any action based on this review. My advice? Save your $$ and choose a different mexican restaurant if you want a well-priced, high quality lunch or dinner.
I wish them well, but if today's experience is indicative of quality and service, they won't be around in today's competitive...
