Have ate here a couple of times just in August as I wanted to wait for the initial rush that would happen with Eagan finally getting an Olive Garden, as well as waiting to less peak hours to eat there which is what I've been doing, so it's easier to get seating of my choosing.
Restaurant is gorgeous, they have booths where there's more privacy as there is wall barriers.
The service is absolutely outstanding, every interaction I've had with staff has been amazing the manager in fact when wanting to sit in a section with a booth, the greeter originally said it was closed (I'm sun sensitive so I do best with the booths not near a window even though there are booths that are inset for privacy with a window, I sat there the other day with a friend and they server pulled down the drapes because of my sun sensitivity.
I only have had one problem with food, I got the eggplant which I've gotten before and the soup and salad the other 2 times and the eggplant was super hot, even waiting longer than 5 minutes to eat it. It was also overly cooked or burnt, but I also never burnt my mouth on food, before but did this time so just as a heads up, wait a few minutes as the server who was awesome did warn the plate was really hot which it was just like the eggplant but the manager made it right.
Stuff happens to me though when something like too hot food happens, the manager made it right right, he already scored major points with me opening that section for me (I came in 2;55 and they still honored lunch special as I asked) and Arleth was extraordinarily attentive and kind.
So there is no question that I will be back there many times, I just might wait a teeny bit longer to try a food that is usually hot, that's all and I'm only saying that as I'm an adult, there is a lot of kids eating there and I wouldn't want for example a young child to grab from a parent's plate (I've seen that there and other restaurants) and burn himself if he or she would do that right away, even though again the servers warn the food and plate is hot.
Also just as a heads up there is less kids but a few during non peak hours. And like others on here have said, a lot of parents could be paying more attention to their very young children, as it does effect negatively people without kids eating there and while OG can't do anything about it, it is rude for parents as this can be an expensive meal for some who are w/o kids but having their meals ruined by unruly children who either run around around or , bug guests at the table next to them (this actually happened to my bf and I, our first time here by yelling at patrons and throwing things at us!)
If I had the money I'd open a children's hourly daycare in that area, it would be perfect given all the ideal shops and restaurants and of course now this Olive Garden.
Welcome to Eagan, elevated long awaited beautiful Olive Garden with good food and...
Read moreWe were greeted by the hostess Victoria and taken to a booth. Victoria said our server Natalie would be right over. Five minutes passed, and Victoris came back asking if she could bring us a beverage. Which she did promptly. Our server, Natalie, arrived about five minutes later and took our order. Natalie brought us our soup. The minestrone soup I had did not have any tomato flavor, and the broth was clear like water. The soup was half shell macaroni. The soup also had cut up snap pea pods in it that I was not able to chew through (see photo). I brought this to our servers' attention, and Joni, the kitchen manager, came to the table and told us she would investigate. Joni apologized and brought me a bowl of the zuppa Toscana soup. This bowl of soup had a potato slice in it a third the size of the bowl (see photo) There was no kale in the soup at all. The sausage in It was ground up into the tiniest pieces. The broth of this soup also lacked flavor. It has been over 15 minutes since our order was taken, and we still did not have any breadsticks. I did notice that the booth next to us who placed their order about 10 minutes after us was already eating breadsticks. We flagged down Natalie and asked for breadsticks. Our order arrived, and shortly afterward, the breadsticks finally arrived. They were not fresh. They tasted day old at best. My chicken mushroom dish lacked mushrooms and flavor. The salt shaker at our table had only 1/4 inch of caked hard salt in the bottom of it (see photo). I got up and went looking for a way to get a refill on my beverage, and our server Natalie was in a group of servers chatting and laughing together. Joni came back to our table to hear about the zuppa Toscana soup and apologized again. Joni told us that the size of the potato in the soup depended on the size of the potatoes delivered. What? Joni told us we we would not be charged for our meals and hoped we we would consider giving this location another try. Joni took our plates. Natalie then showed up with a new salt shaker. Joni insisted that they were following the corporate recipes. I have been to most of the Olive Garden sites in the Twin Cities. These two soups were not edible to me and were not like any I have had at...
Read moreWe have always enjoyed going to Olive Garden. The food is always great and the attention we get from the wait staff is top notch, no matter which one we go to. Well, it was until we visited this restaurant. We had a group of 6 and the waitress started off good, getting our drinks. Unfortunately, that’s when the good ended. We placed our orders and then waited a good 25 minutes before we got some breadsticks and our salad, which was wilted, like it was sitting around for awhile. Usually, we only have to wait 10 minutes at the most and that’s if it’s really busy. I could see if it was busy or they were short-staffed, but they were neither. We were surprised how empty it was, especially for a Saturday afternoon around 12:45. There were a lot of waitresses, however, they were all huddled back in the wait station yakking away. We waited almost an hour before food finally came to the table and then my 4 year old grandson didn’t get all his food. We had to remind the waitress TWICE about getting his food. My wife got fed up with the waiting and tracked down the GM to let her know what was going on. Of course, all of a sudden we got some action, which unfortunately didn’t last long. No one came back to ask how the food was or refill our drinks. We could see they were again busy yakking away. They could get road construction jobs holding the Slow/Stop signs the way they just stood around. In her defense, our waitress said it was her first day. Really? They just put you out there without someone working with you? I doubted this was her first day but I blame most of this on the GM. She saw those waitresses standing around yakking and didn’t do anything about it, even after we complained to her about it. Then to not have anyone help the new waitress, if she was really new. Needless to say, we weren’t asked if we wanted any dessert. At no point was anyone in our group mean or yelling at anyone. We just asked for the service we were used to getting at an Olive Garden. No wonder this place wasn’t busy, who would ever want to come back? I...
