I rarely leave reviews but I felt compelled after our experience here. I’m very disappointed with Parrilla de San Miguel as it is clearly not what it used to be. My husband and I are frequent customers and last night was incredibly disappointing. We were at my son’s graduation. So we called ahead of time to make a reservation for a party of 10 and they told us that they weren’t doing reservations at the moment, so we said okay and we still chose to head over to parrilla de San Miguel, as it’s always been our favorite restaurant.. We arrived and waited for over an hour just to be seated which was ridiculous because they had empty tables right in front of us. I assumed they could’ve simply put them together for us to dine, but they adamantly said that they couldn’t move them for us as per their “policy”. I would think they would at least try and make something work to please their customers but I guess not? They had our party sit in separate tables which I found quite distasteful. We asked again if it would be possible for them to put our tables together but the “lead” or “manager” said that they couldn’t, with a very condescending attitude so we said okay. It felt like a burden to be there already. Servers looked like they barely even wanted to be there as well. Very uninterested attitude. I don’t know but the vibe was not it. Service was not it either. Unfortunately after waiting such a long time to be seated and served, our appetite went away.. all for us to be charged over $300 (including automatic tip for crappy service). Sadly, we spent more time waiting to be seated than actually eating… I guess that’s on us for trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, since it was our favorite place. Oh well, rant over. Hopefully the owners take this matter seriously before other customers run away.. It was definitely below standard. The lack of attention ruined the experience as it reflects poorly on the place. Your customers deserve better and we definitely won’t be back anytime soon. Won’t be recommending...
Read moreMy sisters and I had visited this restaurant in May to celebrate a birthday and were beyond happy with the food and service (we even complimented the exceptional waiter we had and mentioned it to the manager) so we decided to go back last weekend. Strange how you can change in opinions about a restaurant from one visit to the next. We had the worst experience EVER!!! We were seated and the waiter took our drink/food order (fajitas were too chewy and tough). Someone else brought our drinks to the table as well as a totally different person brought our food. We were confused as to who our waiter was. They didn't willingly come back to check on us, we had to keep asking whoever we saw for extra napkins, refills and such. On the other hand, there was a party of 2 people at the table right next to us and the waiter that was supposedly our waiter, kept asking this party of 2 "Anglos" "Is everything okay, can I bring you anything else?" every single time he passed by and totally ignored us. We had to ask for the check because we had finished and kept waiting on him to bring it, which he never did. Someone else brought it to us. Did he think he wasn't getting a tip or perhaps he though he got a chance of getting a bigger and better tip from the "Anglo's?" We did leave a tip but just not to that "kissass" waiter, we gave it to the other one that actually took the time to acknowledge us. Management needs to retrain their waitstaff to acknowledge and treat all customers with courtesy and respect and not pick and choose. I don't think we'll be going back. Chick-fil-A treated us so much better and we spent less money with them. It goes to show you that more expensive food doesn't necessarily means you get...
Read moreWe placed a telephone order for a tampiqueña Ribeye VERY WELL DONE and they served it RAW and my husband didn't realize it until he reached the middle portion of the steak. All the center and bottom half was raw. We took it back and a "manager" named LAURA refused to replace or exchange it because my husband picked at the well done portion of the steak. She, however, offered to take that semi eaten ribeye and throw it back on the same grill as other customer's steaks and food. That's not sanitary nor ethical! She humiliated and berated him in front of many customers with her snotty remarks about how everyone likes their steak differently and offended my husband for liking his steak well done even though she stated she wouldn't eat it raw either. His steak was raw! She refused to make it right and refused to provide him with the contact information for her supervisor or the owner. When he asked her why she stated because they don't care, they don't want any of the customers contacting them. This restaurant is a place where we go to often and spend countless hours and amounts of money for birthday celebrations, special occasions, and our weekly family dining. This place has disappointed us beyond recovery. And it's okay because Laura made it very clear that they don't care. Luis took the order correctly, as evident by the receipt, but a cook decided to rush the steak and serve it raw. Ashley willingly and shamelessly delivered Laura's messages to us by telephone and when my husband went in person, Laura in the flesh humiliated him and belittled his taste for a well done steak. That's okay. One day they will be sitting at the other side of the dining table...
