12/08/2022. UPDATE .. I have visited this restaurant many times in the past. I find the food to be of high quality. Unfortunately my most recent visit was disappointing. After arriving and selecting a booth, we ordered a glass of wine and settled in for relaxation. The time was approximately 6:00 p.m. on a Thursday night. Unfortunately while we started to enjoy the wine, one of the service personnel decided to come in and and start to clean all of the stools on a table which created uncomfortable environment and we listen to the stools being set upon the table and watched her clean the stools from one into the other while we were sipping our wine. Whatever happened to prepping and cleaning your restaurant prior to the doors opening? There was no consideration to the paying customers surrounding this activity. We also got a whiff of cleaning products such as bleach. Bleach and barbecue oh great! Oh what a wonderful meal that was. Unfortunately this activity has removed the restaurant from my go-to places in Eagle. The food is great, but when a paying customer has to deal with this kind of atmosphere, it's just not worth it. It seems the restaurant has been on the down hill in atmosphere and comfort. All the booth seating materials are worn and torn, making it uncomfortable for those who are attempting to enjoy their meals. It may just be me but when I'm spending $50 for a dinner, I would like to have comfort and a sense of quality atmosphere. Perhaps I'll try them again, but not in the near future. As you will note, this is not my first review. I have over 150 reviews from all over the world. Mostly graded at four and five's. Unfortunately I have to lower my grade for this once great place to have barbecue. I'll be back but not soon. Too many other places places to eat around eagle and the valley.
A solid place to eat. Plates are high quality and reasonably priced. I tried the pork sandwich and ordered the "add two ribs". Quite a meal. Tiffany was attentive and a joy to have as a server. Pricing is reasonable given the food quality. I'll be back.... ...
Read moreWORST SERVICE EVER!! We went tonight a party. My sister in law ordered a burger with grilled onions. The burger came out with raw onion, we told the server (Chanelle) that the onion was raw and she started arguing "it is grilled, its not caramelized" and showed her the rest of our grilled onions she said they were the same, All 10 of us knew that they were raw. We simply and nicely asked for them to be taken back and get grilled a bit more. The server had very little knowledge of the menu or any questions we asked.
When she did take it back from our table to get it fixed we see the cook in the kitchen pick up the bun from her burger and actually throw it across he room and start freaking out. He saw us watching him and hid. At this point we became very unhappy with his attitude over 4 grilled onions and asked for the manager. After waiting quite a while he comes out and does absolutely nothing. He said he would go "check it out" and said "too bad the owner isn't here to help.." Aren't managers supposed to be able to help resolve problems??
Well throughout the whole meal we had to wait around for extra ranches, boxes, the checks and each time there was an excuse. We totally got that our server had other things to work on and we all get behind but a simple Im sorry would help versus all the excuses. At the end of our meal the "manager" came over to inform us that the cook "dropped his towel and was just picking it up".
I will say that they do have good food and we planned our trip around going to eat there but it was very disappointing to see that they have such poor customer service. We will definitely NOT be coming back and hope that the service starts getting better and others have a...
Read moreI work in Eagle and we frequent the BoPig (our nickname for them) regularly. If you have a group and you want to try an appetizer go for the Pulled Pork Nachos. As for lunch, I recommend the Tri-Tip Sandwich. I have never had a better version of this California classic than at the BoPig. It is moist, with just the right amount of house bbq sauce. The brioche bun is to die for and goes perfectly with the piled high slices of juicy tender beef. The other entree I would suggest is actually on their appetizer menu. The BBQ Shrimp may be the best kept secret in the Treasure Valley. These little perfectly cooked crustaceans come swimming in a velvety Louisiana Peppery Sauce reminiscent of a Cajun Sauce Piquant. They send out 4 slices of fabulous garlic bread to sop up the sauce but you'll need twice that many to get the last of it, or just ask for a spoon and finish it like a Cajun Tomato soup. I promise you won't be sorry you ordered this little gem. We often entertain business contacts at the BoPig and have never had a negative review. In fact when scheduling for follow up lunches they often request the BoPig so they can try something else. They have given rave reviews for the Sloppy Joe, the Trio of Sliders, the Smoked Chicken Salad and the Wedge Salad (they always request the Tri-Tip or Smoked Chicken be added to the Wedge Salad). I wholeheartedly recommend the Bodacious Pig and I hope you get to go soon just so you can start your regular...
