Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in Eagle

I love Freddy's. I have eaten at three other locations in Idaho and I love them all. I have eaten at this location twice and both times I was disappointed. This last visit I went with a friend and we both had problems with our orders. The burgers and fries were delicious and the person at that counter went above and beyond and was very friendly. That is why I am not giving it a 1 star. The persons who took our order got my friend's order wrong. My order was no better. I always order the brownie delight and substitute vanilla custard for the chocolate. It is cheaper that way. She rang it up as a vanilla custard with brownie and fudge. I mentioned to her that this increased the cost for me could she substitute the custard like the other locations and she said she didn't know how and then stared at me. I ordered a salted caramel malt for my daughter which I had done in the past. I now know that salted caramel is no longer available but instead of telling me that she said the hot caramel was the same thing. We finished our food and I had not heard my number called for my custards. I went up to the counter and was told that they had called and since I didn't come up they would have to remake my order. I said I heard lots of numbers called but not mine. He said he called three times. While I find that hard to believe that we missed it three times at other locations I have seen them bring it to the table when you don't hear. Not at this location. When he started to remake them I asked again about the salted caramel because the person who took my order said the hot caramel was the same. He asked me if I wanted him to add salt to it. When I said no, I just wanted salted caramel and that I had ordered it before, he said he just had what they sent in the bottle. My Brownie delight was as disappointing as the last time and I will not be ordering custard at this location again. There were some brownie crumbs in the concrete and the fudge was non existent. My daughters malt was not a thick shake, it was a concrete and had to be eaten entirely with a spoon and she thinks there may have been some caramel in it but she was not sure. Stopped into Freddy's tonight for a late dinner. It's nice this joint is open till 10. We came around 8. The place was empty so it was kinda nice to eat at any table we wanted.

A sweet gal came to the register and greeted us. She got our order all squared away. My husband ordered a shake and she was kind to offer to make the shake later so it didn't melt. My husband wanted it during dinner so she got it all ready and handed it to us.

We went to find a table while our food was being prepared. We wanted a booth and unfortunately a lot of the booths were very dirty with food. You can tell the tables haven't been tended to and cleaned. We did find a booth by the front door that was clean.

Our number was called out and we grabbed our goodies. I got the California burger with a lettuce wrap, my husband grabbed the grilled cheese steak burger and a chili cheese dog. I opted for onion rings instead of the fries. The onion rings were good. They were crispy on the outside and the onion was soft and sweet in the middle. The burger was tasty. I did have to use a fork to eat it. I thought when they offered my burger to be lettuce wrapped that it would be wrapped. It was pretty much two pieces of lettuce on the top and bottom which made it hard to eat just holding it. My husband enjoyed his grilled cheese steak burger very much. I also did have a bite of the chili cheese dog. It wasn't lacking in the cheese and chili department! It was great. My husband polished off every bit of his oreo shake, I didn't even get a sip of it.

People started coming in as we were finishing our meal. It was nice to see late eaters coming in and eating. Freddy's has always produced yummy burgers. We have purchased food several times over the last 6 months. If we request no cheese, no pickle, etc, our order is wrong. We stopped eating here because of the errors and have been grabbing food on Thursday nights on our way out of town with Arby's right next door. I was craving in ice cream so we decided to go to Freddy's Thursday night of this last week. The female who was taking our order with laughing and giggling and clearly not paying attention or working from professional behavior. We had to repeat our order numerous times. When we got to the window we were told the price was $41 for two people. Not understanding why the price was so high, we questioned the items and were told we could have corrected the order but didn't. We never had an opportunity to correct the order before getting to the window at which point we were told that we ordered would not be corrected. Come to find out my husband ordered a cheeseburger and a hot dog. The worker put in 2 instead of 1 of each. She also put in 2 of a double burger ordered instead of 1. The way this was handled by staff was that we had made the error and not the employee was unacceptable. We ordered one of each not two of each...clearly we are 2 people! She was distracted and immature and it cost us double the amount of money for this order. I question the management at this facility as we've had numerous issues when stopping every Thursday night. Improve your quality and professionalism of your employees or you will continue to fail.
