I live in Eagle and was really excited when they opened this location just down the street from me, I've been there 3 times and unfortunately each time the service ranged from awful to not good. The food on the other hand is excellent. I have ordered once on Uber Eats and the food was still really good when delivered. Lots of unique options and very flavorful. The first time I was there the server was sub par, not attentive and extremely slow even though the restaurant wasn't busy at all. The second time the service was awful. We were ignored when we walked in while employees chatted, when we were seated our waitress took 20 minutes to greet us. We ordered 2 sodas, an appetizer and two entree's. An hour after we ordered my husband's entree showed up and mine didn't. Someone other than the waitress dropped it off and as he was walking away he said he'd bring an extra plate, then dropped it off a few minutes later. We weren't sharing a meal, we ordered our own, but he dropped off the plate so fast we couldn't get a word in to mention that. 15 minutes later, my entree still had not arrived and our waitress showed up to ask how our food was. I told her I was still waiting for mine. She just gave me a confused look and walked away. She came back a few minutes later and said it would be right out. No apology. Then we heard someone in the back say they needed to make a macaroni, which is what I ordered, asap because they forgot it. She never bothered to check back on us until another 20 minutes later when it came out, by then my husband was finished was his meal so I just asked for it to go. The third time we came in I was hesitant to even give them another chance but we did. There was one other couple in the restaurant. Again we were ignored while 2 employees carried on a conversation near the back. They looked right at us, the sign said to wait to be seated, but they finished up their conversation before even heading up front to greet us. We came in for a couple appetizers. Our waitress was actually good this time, didn't take forever and was friendly, however it was short lived because she came after our food arrived to let us know she was leaving and another server would take over. It was 100 degrees that day, we both ordered water. For whatever reason it came in a small glass, guessing about 8oz-10oz, but a carafe was left with water. The problem with this was, the ice in our small glasses melted before we could even finish the first glass, then every subsequent pour from the carafe was warm water because it didn't have ice in it. Not exactly refreshing on a hot day. We ran out of water, even warm water, but our replacement server never checked on us. Him and a female employee were busy towards the back chatting. We finished our appetizers and looked at the clock. We were already discussing the service. 5 minutes later the new server comes over and asks how everything was and got our check. He was nice, but inattentive. This location clearly has an issue with employees chatting amongst themselves instead of acknowledging customers in a timely fashion. When we walked out, the server was back talking to the same female he was before and they both looked at us and stopped talking but didn't say anything to us. It was awkward. We tried 3 times, and 3 times they failed as far as service. We will not go here anymore. If we really want some of their food, well just order on Uber Eats and save our tip for the Uber...
Read moreUpdated review 7/24: Our server, Amiah, was personable and helpful, constantly checking to see if we were doing well, etc. The food was better this time (stuck to the pizza, but would like to try some pasta the next time we go here), however, it was still just a bit off of the "great pizza" mark.
I had the pepperoni, sausage, and portobello mushroom pizza. My wife had the Tuscan chicken pizza. The toppings were all fresh, tasty, and at a good ratio. Unfortunately, two things stood out as missing the mark. The first is that the crust is so thin that the sauce/toppings overwhelmed the crust, and it was also pretty much soaked and mushy... I'm no pizza magician, so take it for what it's worth, but my thought would be to make the crust a bit thicker, and perhaps par bake them such that the sauce/toppings don't turn it into a limp soggy, impossible to pick up pie.
The second issue is something that just plain seems odd... I'm 62 yrs old and have eaten pizza in New York, Chicago, and Milano, to name a few, and I've never had a fresh out of the oven pie, hit with a liberal dusting of dry Italian seasoning after the fact... This is 100% not necessary and honestly has zero place on a freshly baked pie... Almost ruined both of our meals... Just a head scratcher... I can see maybe some shredded basil put on after baking, which might add brightness and freshness, but a dry, bitter, Italian seasoning blend... Just a big ole hell nah!
Original review in 2021: (Was 3 stars) Went for dinner last Saturday as my wife found an article saying this was the best pizza in Idaho. I ordered the Margherita pizza, my wife the veggie pizza. My pizza had some great bites, but they were to few and far between, as the sauce was very uneven, the cheese was placed mostly in the middle, eaving 2"-3" of burned crust. To top it off, the pieces if basil were tiny and probably covered 10% of the pie. Seriously, take a little pride in what you serve to your customers. As for the veggie pizza... Well, very few actual veggies... Was mostly a sauce and goat cheese pizza. I tried a slice and pretty much was overpowered by the funkiness of the goat. My conclusion, without knowing this for a fact, is... The pie makers were not trying to make a superior product and just sloping them together. I will likely give this place 1 more try, but if they don't improve, will be a 2 and done...
Read moreFrom the moment we walked into Flatbread Neapolitan Pizzeria in Meridian, we were captivated by the warm, inviting atmosphere and the friendly staff. Our experience was further enhanced by our exceptional waitress who made sure our afternoon lunch was nothing short of perfect.
We kicked off our meal with the Sicilian Meatballs, which set a high standard with their rich, authentic flavors - their marinara is very good. For our main courses, we indulged in a delightful array of dishes: the Farfalle Con Pollo Affumicato, which was perfectly smoked and deliciously creamy; the Housemade Lasagna, layered with classic Italian goodness.
The creativity of the menu shone through with the "Pick Two" options, allowing for delightful mix-and-match meals. We chose combinations of Alfredo and The Grate with Caramelized Onion Soup, and the Diavola Pizza with Chicken Apple Walnut Salad. Each dish was a testament to the chef’s ability to blend traditional Italian flavors with a unique twist. The Eggplant Parmigiana was another standout, beautifully prepared and packed with flavor.
Flatbread Neapolitan Pizzeria also boasts an impressive selection that caters to various tastes and preferences, making it a perfect dining spot for virtually anyone.
