This place had several raving reviews, so my wife and I tried it. Unfortunately, we cannot agree. I want to say first and foremost that the service is incredible, the staff were attentive and friendly, and the food was brought out very quickly. They even made ingredient subtractions for my food allergies and rearranged the order to save us money! The presentation was good, but that's pretty much where it stopped. I want you to know that the two stars on this review are solely for the amazing staff. The quality of the food was poor, which was a huge disappointment because every other aspect of the dishes we ordered was what you're looking for - The refreshingly copious amount of chicken in my ramen had fake grill marks and a gelatinous texture. As I removed the pieces from my soup, they jiggled as they landed on a plate. After removing the chicken, I noticed a disturbing smell that I couldn't quite figure out until I smelled my ramen. It smelled like a farm! I couldn't eat it.
My wife and I ordered sushi, which was well prepared and looked like anything you'd find in a great sushi place! I ate my roll, and she ate about half of the rolls she got before she made the decision to stop. She said that she could really only taste the sauce because there was so much of it. We both left feeling like we'd made a bad decision going here instead of the Phó and More that we'd intended to visit. The price we paid, even after our gracious cashier's assistance, is something I would've expected from Tokyo (Clemson), Zen Ramen (Clemson), Otto Izakaya (Greenville), or Irashiai (Greenville), all of which are currently worth driving to from Easley.
I don't want to complain about this place without at least making some suggestions, so I will say that if Ginza drops the pre-made, processed foods and improves their quality with better ingredients, we'll be happy to try this place again. For now, however, I do suggest the list of...
Read moreI rarely give bad reviews, so I'm being generous with 3 stars. The staff was friendly & the restaurant was clean. But, they forgot our edamame. No big deal. We asked for it when we were finished with our meals, so we could just get it to go & leave. They didn't seem to believe we didn't get it. After 10 minutes, or so, they brought it in a bowl. I nicely asked if we could get it in a to-go bowl & she had to go back to do that. Again, no big deal. Not her fault. But, then... Later that night, my sister told me she had been sick & what goes in, must come out...one way, or another. I felt nauseated, but thought I was safe, since my food was vegetarian. Nope. My daughter & I both had tummy aches during the night. I won't go into the disgusting details, but I feel like the food was cross contaminated. I remember a distict raw fish after-taste & thought that was weird & gross, since I don't eat dead animals... but sometimes the smells can penetrate the food in a kitchen. Perhaps while prepping the sushi, somebody dipped into the veggies... I don't know. But, if I had been their health inspector, things could have gone very badly for them last night. I hope that the owners look into any unsanitary conditions in their prep area & make sure the staff are taking proper precautions. And, I hope no one else suffered any late night visits to the...
Read moreI’m not one to typically complain, especially on a public forum, but after two attempts I felt like something had to be said. I Decided to get takeout a couple of nights ago… had tried Ginza once before and thought it was a little pricey and the food was not that great, but I thought maybe it was just an off night… Nope… I will say that the service was OK, There was a very nice young man who forgot to pack my sushi in my to go bags, and came out to the parking lot to catch me when he realized it before I got in my car. But, the food was horrible. The sushi tasted like it was fake fish. My teenage son, who loves spicy tuna rolls, ate one and said “this is nasty.” I ordered general Tso chicken And it was basically overcooked chicken with no spice to it on rice that looked like it was left over from the night before and thrown into a frying pan. My husband ordered a Mongolian beef bowl that looked and tasted awful And hibachi chicken, which for some reason had steak in it. The only thing remotely good was the Gyoza and I think that was simply because we were hungry. We paid over $60 Including the tip and were extremely dissatisfied And...
