Today after living here for 6 months I finally decided to try this place with my husband! We where both highly disappointed. With horrible service and such bland food. So I am Mexican my husband is Dominican and we moved here from Texas HOME OF MEXICAN FOOD EVEN TEX-MEX I grew up in Mexico and off real street food. This place caught my interest when I called and asked about there menudo. I even asked about there pozole and tacos. I asked for a sample of menudo because I did not want to pay 13.00 for soup that wasn't good and even though I called and asked she said they had no menudo. Small tacos with bland seasoning costing 2.50 and higher. Pllllleaaase I get 3 times the size with more ingredients and love put into a homemade tortilla for only 1.26. I can not with this place. I asked for huevos ranchero and got a plate with chorizo Mexicano. Asked for huevos rancheros again OVER HARD and got huevos ranchero scrambled. Aslo bland. The rice tasted as if it was steamed with veggies and water but also bland. I will say the jamica was good and the home made Chile Verde was good. But everything else we had was bland. Coming from the back ground I have and my husband being exposed to Mexican food in Mexico and Texas well even he was disappointed. We waited 10 minutes after our drink order to recive it. And watched as the server stop taking her order just to answer the phone 2 times. While taking the couple's order in front of us. After taking our food she didn't come back to check on us. So I ate some and my husband gave up on his. Now I am 25 year old who has the background in working as a server and bartender at Mexican restaurants I am Mexican . I can honestly say this is not worth the time or money for shity food and service. I highly recommend trying...
Read moreBeing hungry for Mexican food in the land of delicious home cooked food is no east feat. Driving down the seedy part of town past the 30 split lies Plaza Mexico, nestled next to a Dollar General store. My girlfriend and I are well versed in Mexican food, since it is our favorite. She got her default Chicken fajitas and I got the special which was described as "two pieces of steak, with beans, rice and flour tortillas", so I went with it. We also ordered guacamole and cheese dip.
The salsa was decent and the chips weren't that bad, albeit a little stale.
The guacamole was next, since it had to be made. It was ice cold, not sure how they pulled that one off, that too wasn't bad considering it was blender guac.
The cheese dip was without a doubt from a jar. Same consistency, not to mention I heard the microwave door close and the timer go off.
Out come the entrees. The fajitas were very nice looking, big slices of tomato, onion and green pepper served the usual way, it wasn't all that bad, maybe a 6 out of 10. The special came in a bowl, with a puffy parchment paper covering? I received 5 little nuggets of steak in a red colored liquid and about 15 various sized bay leaves, yuck.
The beans and rice were without a doubt in my mind from next door at Dollar General. The rice even had those dehydrated peas and carrots with the wrinkles in it, if you've had cup o noodles, you know what I mean. I tried a bite and it tasted just like a box, the beans were the generic beans from a can, again from next door.
To sum it all up, if you know real Mexican food, avoid this place. if you think Chipotle and Qdoba are the greatest,...

We've waited 50mins+, so I've had to leave. The staff doesn't communicate what's happening. As we wait for the order to be ready, I've seen other patrons experience the same frustrations. If it's an hour wait, just say that on the phone. I will no longer frequent this business due to the lack of communication & frustration.
Old Review: Eat here. Eat all the food and order everything because it's all delicious! I've been there a few times and I've never been disappointed. My favorite are the flautas! Crispy and covered in your favorite red or green sauce (I prefer the green). The beans are traditional with cojita cheese on top. The peppers in the fajitas aren't overdone and still have that small amount of crisp to them. If you get the shrimp version, the shrimp are perfectly tender without being overdone. My fried plantains came with strawberries and a nice sweet drizzle. As I ordered it to-go due to COVID, they still made a nice presentation in the box. I'm from the west coast and lived in Arizona, California and Oregon where Mexican food is part of life. If you're looking for authentic Mexican and not Dominican (yes, they are different), then this is the...
