First visit. Ordered a "Family 1" meal, and was more than enough to stuff my family of four (at $10/person for the Family 1 meal), with bone-in, tenders, fries, and dumplings. The rest of my family isn't into sauces normally, so I asked for it on the side and got a fair amount in the little condiment cups, which were packaged alongside lightly pickled diced onions, all of that in their own small box, which gave me confidence that a) it wouldn't spill and b) these folks really paid attention to detail. The chicken itself was ultra-crispy, and the drumsticks were butterflied so there was an even more awesome breading to meat ratio. And all of the pieces were very hefty, with the drumsticks easily the size of at least 2 P*peye's drumsticks (and that's before the butterfly effect). They were perfectly juicy under the crispy shell. And the crispiness survived the 15-20 minute trek home (we stopped on the way). I loved the Crazy Hot Spicy, it was like crystalized honey with really hot chili oil, and some other faint aroma like cinnamon that really helped round out the overall flavor profile. My wife decided upon tasting that she also really liked the Kangnam Special sauce, which was salty and sweet like soy sauce with sugar, and thickened ever so slightly to help it coat the chicken. The well-seasoned fries and the unique dumplings really helped round it out into a full meal.
The customer service was excellent, as I had called due to a discrepancy on hours between Google and the actual website (Google was correct), and he talked me very patiently through all of the various options like regular, large, and the Family Combos. I thanked him, hung up to decide, and then called back, and he was happy to repeat it again for the parts I missed. When I went inside, it was bright, spotless, and the owner was extremely friendly, with my order on the counter and pretty much ready to ring me up at the register, and you could tell was thankful that customers chose to spend their money with him. I can't say enough about him, or the food. For the locals who know Audrey and China Wok over at Audubon Square, 100% the same vibe, customer service, and quality.
This is definitely a place I intend to frequent going forward to keep them and their quality food and customer service around for...
Read moreWe decided to call an audible when it came to our dinner plans and we were glad we did! We walked in completely unsure what we wanted to eat and were happily greeted. I loved the detailed explanation we got on the different sauces, sizes and serving recommendations, as well as the basic details on the non-chicken options.
Beyond the excellent customer service, we loved every bite of what we got. We tried Kang Nam Chicken (regular), Fried Dumplings w/Honey Garlic sauce, Sweet & Hot Spring Rolls, a Beef Cup Bob, and even some Kimchi. Probably too much food for two people, but I'm happy with left overs =P
The wings are huge and tasty. I mean I love double fried wings so no surprise that these were my favorite. The Cup Bob is portioned well for one and offers a mix of flavors. The dumplings are good on their own right and even better with the sauce on top.
As you can read, a clear recommend from me. I'll be...
Read moreThis place is amazing! I went at a slow time and let the owner know it was my first time. I am already a big fan of the crunch from Korean fried chicken and always seek out good places. I wanted to try as many flavors as I could and so he helped me out with a mix and match since it was a slow period. While the food was cooking we talked about the culture, the process of making it and my love of spicy food. He disappeared at one point and came back with some complimentary crab ragoons which was very thoughtful. He told me the chicken is marinated overnight so once his supply for the day is done he closes up. While you might think that is a negative I promise you that is the biggest positive you could ask for! The love will always be in his ingredients so get there early and you won't ever miss out. Thankful for the local places that always try to stick to the ingredients...
