Don't misunderstand me. I love the food. Over the past several years, they have been one of the three restaurants in the area I would order from for take out. They nearly always got the food to us quickly and accurately. These days, it is getting harder and harder to find such a good service. They did all this, mind you, through a pandemic.
I'm disabled. My partner and I are elderly and we don't get out much. This restaurant has been a wonderful support for us in the past 4 or so years.
Until last week.
We got a great meal from them on one day, then three days later, we were suddenly no longer in their delivery radius anymore. I doubt this was their decision, because they use the company called "Slice" to manage their menu and provide the delivery drivers. Now that it isn't the middle of a pandemic, it's getting harder to find good drivers for what they're willing to pay, I got told by Slice that they couldn't deliver to me anymore because "construction in the area" was causing issues. One, it's winter. What construction? Second, they weathered one of the worst disasters in our history, the pandemic, but some traffic stops them? I found this explanation utterly unbelievable. I'm only 3.1 miles from them, via two main streets. The only way to make my house more accessible would be to "beam" the food over.
I love Spanky & Louches. I just hope Slice doesn't...
Read moreMy husband and I are incredibly disappointed after our experience last night. We have been very good customers for the last 2 or 3 years and occasionally had minor issues with S&L (wrong fry order, missing food) but they always made good, and for that, we remained customers. Last night, we ordered a pizza and garlic knots for delivery. After what seemed an usually long wait time, I looked outside, and our order was sitting on our front porch. We never received a call or text, and the doorbell never rang. By the time we brought the food inside, it was ice cold. We had to reheat it all in the oven. My husband called just to let them know, and the man who answered the phone asked for our address, then said, "Sorry about that," and hung up the phone on him. We didn't expect free food , just an acknowledgment of what happened ( and not to be hung up on). What terrible customer service. This was the last straw with them. We'll be finding a new...
Read morePrior to my most recent visit I’d only popped in for a slice. My wife and I wanted a pie the other night so I called them up uncertain of the name of the pie I had gotten slices of before. After a bit of confusion (all my own for being misinformed and asking for the wrong thing) I went in to pickup and realized that the pie that I got wasn’t the one I wanted. The manager or owner apologized for the error and confusion (again. All mine) and offered to replace the our pizza with the one I’d meant to order. Knowing overheads for restaurants are what they are I didn’t wanna do that to a small business and took the pie I was given. Opportunity to try something new right?
We loved it. Honestly. 100% delicious. Probably my favorite pie now in the whole Plymouth Meeting Conshy area. We will totally be back to order this Uncle Charlie Pizza again and the Red top pizza we meant...
