People don't get 5 stars from me usually. You would have to rock my world with the food with the ambiance and the staff funny and helpful as hell. My 4 stars are basically already great places. I'm giving them here 4 stars but it is as if it was 5. 4 for the level of expectation, 4 for what it is. Not what a 4 star on a national or even international scale of what a 4 star restaurant should be. 4 as in Caribbean restaurants level. Usually, Caribbean restaurants don't take cards, they don't deliver the food, and their food, too specific person's flave. And I mean for example, spicy as hell. Pepper, and I mean head popping- ear shooting fire, throat itching spicy!!! This level of spicy some has the nerve to tell you, "well it's fish. It can't be done without a little pepper" that is your opinion. Not my health. Not my choice when I'm just going to have to throw it. Pepper should be "my option" as client. Here at Aly's, they do. Ambiance, clean and new. No fanfare. The people, especially the owner, André, they are all very friendly and the food tasty. Would...
Read moreThis place is so 🔥 The other day I got, Aly’s Restaurant, for lunch. I had got their Griot (Fried Pork) w/ White Rice, Sos Pwa, Pikliz, & Plantain. It was absolutely delicious. I also had their Lemonade to was it down. The Griot had some pieces that was a bit too fatty, but it was seasoned really well, and the sauce it came with was phenomenal! Their sos pwa is so damn good too. Great texture and flavor. It’s a great compliment with the sticky white rice. The pikliz was spicy as all heck, but it was an awesome addition to the meal. Not gonna lie, the Lemonade was fairly mid, but it has no impact on my total score. I’d HIGHLY recommend, Aly’s Restaurant, to anyone in the East Orange area and looking for some excellent Haitian Food. Their beef patty’s looked terrific...
Read moreThis restaurant has the worst customer service. They are rude and don’t provide you with your complete food order. If I order a large complet I expect to have fried plantains in my order and this place is the only place that either doesn’t let you know that they don’t have plantains or just don’t put it in your platter. I’ve had one encounter with them where they told me they didn’t have plantains and I said i didn’t want the food anymore and 2 seconds later all of a sudden they have plantains. Restaurants especially Haitian restaurants needs to understand that we, as the patrons are a crucial part in the success of their restaurants therefore they should treat their patrons with a little...
