Smoothie King — Restaurant in East Peoria

Last week, I ordered 4 smoothies online for pick up at the East Peoria, IL location. Upon arrival, there were 4 smoothies in the pick up spot on the counter and we told thr employee that we had a pick up and the name. She handed us a carrier for the 4 drinks and helped put them in there. We didn't notice until we got home, 30 minutes away, that they gave us someone else's smoothie and we did not receive one of ours that we ordered. Even the ticket that they place on the lid had someone else's name and 1 of 1 on it. Our other 3 smoothies clearly listed my name and 1 of 4, 2 of 4, and 4 of 4. Where did my 3 of 4 go? We called the store, attempted to speak to the manager a few times over the next few days about the incident and trying to get the smoothie that we had ordered. Not only did I order a smoothie, I spent extra money adding additional ingredients. We finally spoke to the manager, who states she would have to review the video footage first than call us back. Another day went by without a return call, so we called back for a follow up. She said she viewed the video footage but couldn't give us a new drink as she has to get permission from the owner of this specific franchise. She said she is not allowed to do anything without him, the owner, giving her permission first. Well whats the point of having a store manager then? She also stated that the employees said they ran after us as we pulled away in the parking lot because they noticed they handed us the wrong smoothie and it was STILL in their fridge (days later). They arent allowed to throw anything away because the owner always needs to see it. We asked her, if the employees noticed that our smoothie was still there, then why didn't they just call us to come back? Obviously my name and phone number was printed on the ticket that was taped to the smoothie, as we could have turned around and came back. She didn't have an answer other than thats a comversation she needs to have with the employees. Another few days went by, we never got a call back again. So we called the manager, again. She said she spoke with the owner and he will NOT make a new drink for us to replace the drink we never got! He will only allow her to give us a $2 off discount on our next purchase. Wow, so that covered the extra money I paid for the extra ingredients to be added into it. Doesn't help get that smoothie that I ordered and paid for BUT never received, that YOUR store kept! She apologized numerous times and said if she could replace the drink she would, but the owner will not allow her. This is a complete joke! The manager has tried to accommodate good customer service but this owner has restricted her to do anything to solve a problem or make good with the customers when it was a simple error/mistake or when any issue arises. According to the manager, this is definitely not the first time he has sone this! I also left customer feedback when it was sent to my email after the purchase. No one ever called or emailed back to help resolve this situation. To the owner of this franchise, if situations like this continue you will lose us as customers. You're so worried about losing your profit on one smoothie...just wait until you lose profit because of lose of customers choosing to go to other establishments. I have already told others about this experience and will continue. Word of mouth on how you treat your customers and employees is not good for you business. Is Smoothie King really the king of all smoothie places? Possibly. This is the only smoothie place I have visited so far, so it may possibly be the most delicious and bestest smoothie place there is.

If you go to Smoothie King, don’t expect it to be just a drink. No. It is pretty much a meal all on its own. So while the prices may be a bit high, you are basically getting a meal in Styrofoam cup. A Medium Banana Boat smoothie can have about 700 calories, just a heads up if you are health conscious. Get the rewards app if you become subjugated by the King of Smoothies, so you get free stuff after some purchases.

Luckily, if you can’t make it to the East Peoria, IL location, that is fine. You can pay your respects to the Smoothie King across America.

Amazing workers. Long story short, they were closing at 9pm and I had just gotten there about 5 minutes till and tried to put my order in online (can’t walk in the store at this time). Someone from inside saw me standing outside and opened the door to see what I needed and I explained that I tried putting my order in online but see that it was now closing time and my online order probably didn’t go through in time. They said they would still make my smoothies for me even though they just started their closing duties. I was forever grateful since I was making the smoothie run for my boyfriend who had a head injury at the time, and made smoothie King the only thing he wanted and could eat.
