Poor management - I've been shopping at BJ's for about five years using my aunt’s membership and have never had an issue. However, on a recent visit around 9:20 PM, I came in to grab a few last-minute grocery items (a small $100 order). After spending roughly 30 minutes shopping, I was stopped at checkout by Moe Douglas, who identified himself as a supervisor. He informed me that because I was not the primary member on the account, I could not complete my purchase. While I understand the policy, the way the situation was handled was disappointing. There was no signage or prior warning indicating that purchases cannot be made by non-members, which would have saved me the time and inconvenience. I asked if an exception could be made given the late hour and the small order, but Moe refused without any willingness to discuss alternatives. He briefly mentioned a potential surcharge for non-members but then insisted I leave without completing my purchase. It’s frustrating to be turned away after years of giving business to a store, especially for something that could be easily solved with clearer communication or more flexible customer service. BJ's has now lost a loyal customer due to poor handling by someone in a supervisory role. Moe Douglas—if that is indeed your name—this could have been managed far more professionally. I politely requested that they examine their alcohol products for quality and authenticity. To my surprise, their response left much to be desired. They insisted that they were merely sellers and bore no responsibility for the product's quality. They even suggested I reach out to Bacardi, the company that produces the beverage, if I had concerns.
Thinking that the first incident might have been an unfortunate oversight, I gave the store another chance and purchased a bottle of Skyy vodka. Yet, my disappointment was compounded when I encountered the same issues - a peculiar smell and, once again, the absence of a pour spout.

I was there to return an item no one was on the line waiting so I took the chance of going straight to them and I hear someone saying sir the line starts right there , I was going to say something but I didn’t I guess they are right we all need to fallow rules so I went back to make the like I was the only one so 5 seconds will not be a big deal . Instead she made me wait exactly 7 minutes 3 of them were in 1 man 2 women 1 look on training the other one look afraid of taking actions by himself then I was called by the same woman made me go back and wait MARINA was her name by the way ! Sir you are next so as an approaching her she says no sir u go with the young man over there as am being helped I notice one women aproches her directly no making line needed which is fine I was helped already but I question myself why would she do that to certain customers it’s a big corporation should deliver professionalism to all we can simply cancel our membership and go to Walmart Costco perhaps sums club instead we have chosen bjs be kind to us we are here to shop not to harm...
