Forget the naysayers. This place has ample parking...though it is on a busy intersection corner, fresh and piled on veggies and meat and friendly, helpful service.
I hesitated to go here after reading the negative reviews. I am glad I tried it anyway. They are in a strip mall. Those can harbor some great hidden jems though and this is one of them.
We were greeted shortly upon entering and seated in quick order. We knew we wanted Thai teas as we love them most places. They have very good Thai tea...some of the best I have ever had. They have gluten free items or ones which can be modified to be safe well marked with GF or GFA (a for available).
My dh ordered the pad thai. I ordered the Rama Garden. The pad thai had great flavor and fresh bean sprouts, chives and green beans.
My rama was so good. The rice is served in a scoop, to the side of the boat tray they place your meat and fresh grilled broccoli, cabbage, carrots, spinach, mushrooms and onion in. The peanut sauce is served in it's own little dipping cup beside the mouthwatering, fresh veggies and meat.
For those complaining about serving size, this was easily enough for a full two meals each. We had walked five miles and this was our only meal of the day or I would never be able to finish the massive serving provided.
The waitress was helpful and friendly every step of the way with my questions and asked when she wasn't sure about modifications. She also stayed on top of my water, which I very much appreciated.
I highly recommend...
Read morehad an extremely disappointing experience at Mai Lee Thai . My dad ordered a dish that was clearly not prepared correctly—it had hardly any meat, wasn’t what was requested, and simply wasn’t appetizing. We immediately brought this to the attention of the waitress, who agreed there was a lack of meat in the dish and seemed to acknowledge it should be refunded.
However, the situation escalated when the cook came out and refused to offer a refund, stating, “This isn’t a fast food restaurant, you can’t just decide what you get to take off your bill.” Not only was this an incredibly rude response, but the cook also insisted that we would pay for the meal regardless of whether we ate it or not. It felt completely unreasonable—especially when the dish wasn’t even close to what we ordered.
To make matters worse, the cook followed us outside after we paid, causing a scene in the parking lot and even taking pictures of us as we left. His behavior was aggressive and unprofessional, and it was clear that he had no intention of resolving the issue in a courteous manner. The entire experience felt disrespectful and, frankly, a bit scary.
As someone who values good customer service and fair treatment, I cannot recommend this restaurant. It’s one thing to serve a meal that isn’t quite right; it’s another entirely to refuse any sort of compromise, treat customers poorly, and make them feel unsafe. It’s a shame because the food had potential, but I’ll never...
Read moreThis was my first visit to the new location. I called in a to go order and was told it would be 20 minutes. Got there early and the order was already prepared, bagged and sitting behind the counter, about 13 minutes later. Fortunately I opened the bag and the box before I left because it was just a meager serving of seafood and vegetables in sauce (I ordered the Seafood Pad Talay) for $16. No rice, no napkins, no utensils. I brought it to the managers attention and she gave me the missing items. The sauce had good flavor and spice (3*s) but the seafood portion for $16 was disappointing. What’s far worse and completely offensive is that the dish had Kani (fake crab) in it! This so called food item, popular in California rolls at sushi restaurants, has no business anywhere in a Thai restaurant and it certainly has no business in my Pad Talay! Combined with the abandoned warehouse decor, including empty beer taps and empty wine racks, this place had lost any respect I had for it based solely on reputation. There are way too many good restaurants that actually care iin Wenatchee to waste my money...
