Hotel was fine and staff were great.
However, for a fairly new facility, there are a few frustrating and curious problems:
The toilet is squeezed between the room wall and the half-wall dividing the toilet from the vanity. Elbows therefore press up against those walls and reaching the paper roll is nearly impossible as it's fitted way around near the rear of the toilet bowl. Thing is the vanity there is FAR wider than it needs to be. The layout could easily have been easily better planned, fit a narrower vanity to create more room for the toilet space. Poor planning there.
The thermostat is wireless and powered by AA batteries. The batteries in mine were nearly dead and died through the night. I arrived at 1am and retired immediately. Woke up in middle of night to a very cold room after the batteries died. Not sure having to put batteries in this forever more was an environmentally wise choice, and now your staff will have to be checking and replacing them. Really should have made it hard wired like most all other hotels I've stayed in.
Lastly, and unbelievably for this day and age with multiple phone, tablet, and computer devices needing to be charged up nightly, there are ZERO power outlets by the nightstand between the beds. I could not believe this when I found they were missing. Who made that design choice???!!! Very shortsighted and completely unhelpful to guests.
I'm an Elite member and choose Marriott whenever I can. However, this Fairfield just doesn't work nearly as well as the many other properties I regularly stay in all over the Pacific Northwest (WA, OR), CA, and ID regions.
Lastly, what is going on with your entertainment choices in most Marriott properties? In MANY of the hotels I've stayed in HBO is often unavailable or fails to load, different properties have different Internet TV choices so you never know what you are going to get (and sometimes it's nothing but TV channels, no Internet services), and Showtime keeps freezing for 10's of seconds every few minutes or more in nearly every hotel I've stayed in. Sorry, but your Internet TV offering just doesn't work well at all. Again, in this day and age. that's inexcusable. It just seems badly broken....

When we arrived to our room we noticed several scratch and black marks on the dresser, what looked like white melted plastic on the coffee table and the door jam was missing a screw and the deadbolt didn’t work. The front desk clerk made it right and moved us to a different room. The front desk clerk also helped us that evening with a can opener when we needed it. While sleeping overnight we noticed that you cannot hear anything via the interior rooms (ie:between the walls to the next room or out to the hallway). You can however hear the person above you walking, moving, toilet flushing and showering. You can also hear everything outside like you were just sleeping in a tent or camper. Just a quiet car going by, you hear it. I understand being in a city and such but everything was so loud, like the exterior walls were paper thin. This hotel is near a fire house I think because sirens were heard very loudly all the time. We had a King Suite, the bed was not very comfortable. Breakfast was good and the rooms were very clean. We bought some drinks from the little store they have and noticed that they were extremely out of date, after tasting one of them, and had to return them. At first the ladies told me that just means the brew date and I knew better. Then they had to call and get approval to refund me. This hotel shows they have a bar/bistro in their posting and they do not have one. This hotel also shows they have electric kettles in the rooms and they do not.
Pro: Clean Rooms, Some of the staff is friendly, Continental breakfast and coffee are good. Cons: Thin exterior walls, can hear people on top of you walking around, don’t rotate drinks in store and beds are not...
Read moreWe arrived to our room on 7/19/21. As soon as we opened our door to the room we were hit with this musty almost cigarette smell. The bed was made but looked like it was just put together quick. We didn’t really think anything of it until we further inspected the room to find that it had not been cleaned. There were black hairs and stains on the comforter that went through all the way to the sheets which proves the bedding was not changed. Under the bed there was trash left (an old fork with food still on it). The floors were stained and dirty like they hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks. Trash was left in both trash cans. The complimentary coffee packets were opened and left by the coffee maker. The coffee table had sticky stuff on the top of it and on the legs. The ice bucket in the bathroom had water in the bottom of it and the lid was closed so there was mold starting to grow in it. My girlfriend and I complained to the front desk about all of the stuff we had found. They apologized and said they would have someone “deep clean” our room. After someone had “cleaned” our room we went back only to see they had only taken the trash out, changed our bedding and replaced the towels. Floors were still dirty, trash was still by the coffee maker, coffee table was still dirty, ice bucket was STILL in the bathroom. We purposely left the lid off the bucket and set it on the edge of the counter so they could see it. Instead they put the lid back on and pushed it back into the corner of the counter. I expected this hotel to be nice and up to our expectations (especially with the whole COVID thing). Definitely disappointed and would never recommend anyone to stay here. This was not a cheap stay either. We...
