Came to Mi Pais after helping the owners out at t mobile a few days prior. All I can say is wow Wow WOW. I got a Colombian Chicken, Colombian Beef, and cheese empanada to start, with a guava juice blended with milk. The empanadas are served with a mild chimmichurri, as well as a medium and hot sauce. Beware of the hot sauce, while absolutely delicious, the spice is not for the faint of heart. For my main lunch, I ordered the arepa con queso add chorizo. The arepa is cooked beautifully. Nice and fluffy, but with a good chew from that corn meal. The chorizo is in a sweet sauce. The overall combination of the sweet sauce and smoky chorizo made for a phenomenal flavor combination. The service was incredible as well. Food was served quickly, hot, fresh, and obviously cooked to order. Above the food being delicious, thoughtful, and obviously made with pride, the staff at Mi Pais was incredible. As a first timer to Colombian cuisine, they were eager to give me a rundown of how to experience the flavors of their country in just one meal, and were consistently making sure my drink was full and my tastebuds were happy. I wish I could give 10 stars, this place is definitely going to become one of my...
Read moreThe caucasian of hispanic food. Food was completely bland, barely any flavor. Ordered over the phone and had to finish ordering once I was there cause they didnt get everything down. Prices are incredibly high for the amount of food I got. Ordered a Paisa and it didnt even come with the egg. Empanadas are small and when I paid and was ready to leave they started arguing over a salad that they didnt know if they gave me so she took the bag off my hand and searched it while I waited there awkwardly. Their chuletas are not chuletas but a slab of never seen before meat with the only flavor on it was the burnt parts. Added an order of chicharron and it was literally 1 slice layed on lettuce, everything was layed on top of lettuce... yeah i get that yall think thats good presentation but at least make sure the lettuce is fresh and not yellow and brow looking like its about to expire... if im wrong and this is how cuban food is supposed to be, I dont think I want it.

Read moreWas the 1st time trying this place as it was recommended by a friend.
The food was fantastic. The empinadas were full of meat and mashed potato. The crust was perfectly cooked. We tried the arroz mixto Which was yellow rice with a variety of meats chopped up finely in it. It was basically the Colombian version of fried rice but the rice was moist and tender. Ordered mine with sweet plantanes and it was perfect.
We went nuts on sangria and apple flavored sodas. We each had a bottle of each. My friend ordered flan for desert but I didn't have any as I was stuffed like a Thanksgiving Turkey
The only downside was that the dinners were expensive. I expected to pay a little less for a place in a strip mall. That being said, it was worth paying a little extra for an excellent meal. We received attentive service from the staff and they always made sure that our needs were met.
Will I go back? Definitely. Also forgot to mention that they carry a small selection of Mexican...
