As a business owner and someone who eats out frequently, I understand how challenging it can be to deliver an exceptional experience for every customer. I also know the effort required to manage operations and maintain consistency. Typically, I only leave reviews for restaurants when I have a great experience, and if a restaurant falls short, I simply don’t return. However, I felt compelled to share this review because of how deeply disappointing my experience was.
For context: I arrived at 10:00am and ultimately left at 11:45am without eating anything.
Seating: Implementing better software to manage seating would help ensure fairness and efficiency. For example, we were the 5th group to join the waitlist but ended up being the 9th group seated, while three groups that came in after us were seated first. Serving: While I understand mistakes happen, relying solely on memory or paper/pen for orders can lead to errors. Using a system like an iPad for order management could prevent forgotten dishes and miscommunication.
Unfortunately, my experience highlighted the need for this improvement. After waiting 40 minutes to be seated and another 40 minutes for our food, my main dish was completely forgotten. The waitress brought my side dishes but not the main dish, then offered two conflicting explanations: first, that it was still being worked on, and 10 minutes later, that it was burnt and would take another 10 minutes. However, I observed her throw out my pancakes shortly after delivering my side because she didn’t know who they were for. After delivering my girlfriend’s food and my side, she didn’t return to our table for 10 minutes, leaving no opportunity to clarify.
While I empathize with the challenges of running a busy restaurant, this experience has unfortunately left me...
Read moreMy family and I have been coming here for a while (since before they closed for a little bit for repairs) and I am so happy to see it back up and running! I order the Antonio stir fry with a coffee religiously and I love it. Stir fry has a variety of flavors and the coffee is equally as good. My s/o ordered a breakfast burrito on our last visit and he really enjoyed that as well. The icing on the cake (literally, bc the icing that comes with these things is AMAZING) was the cinnamon roll pancakes. Their regular pancakes are decent and fluffy, but these cinnamon roll pancakes were on a whole other level. Their specials are fantastic and everything just tastes so fresh. I typically go Sundays (which is very busy) and there is a little bit of a wait bc this spot is just the best breakfast in town! But trust me, the wait never feels as long as they tell you and it is WELL worth it. My only recommendation would be maybe implementing a text system for waiting customers? Sometimes it’s just too crowded to wait inside and I get nervous I’ll miss my turn. Oh well. Nothing that will keep me from coming back and enjoying this great little spot regularly. Oh and the staff? Polite, efficient, and helpful. Highly recommend over any other breakfast spot...
Read moreHad breakfast there this morning with my husband and an old friend from college and I will definitely go back. this was our first visit to the restaurant. It was a cold, miserable rainy morning but the atmosphere inside was warm and cozy. The place wasn't crowded and we were immediately seated, which may be due to the weather and because it was still early, about 8:30am. Our waitress was pleasant and quickly brought us coffee. I can attest to the other reviews about how good the coffee was. All three of us ordered the breakfast burrito which was made with eggs, sausage, onions, potatoes, and jalapeno/poblamo peppers. I ordered mine without the peppers. My husband also ordered the French toast. The food was made to order and arrived pretty quickly. The burrito was wrapped in a fresh flour tortilla with a generous portion of filling, which was more egg and sausage than potato and onion. After finishing our meal we lingered over several more cups of coffee without being rushed out by our waitress. She probably would have filled our cups a few more times if my friend didn't have to leave to get on the road to drive back to Pittsburgh. All in all a great way to...
