just left your Eastpointe location and I am very disappointed. 1st it took atleast six minutes for someone to recognize me at the takeout window. The staff was to busy playing with a newborn baby behind the bar. Apparently that was more important then recognizing me. Finally I get recognized and it was as if I was bothering them. I place my order being rushed along by the young lady Apparently so she can get back to playing with the baby. She tells me my total I pay with my debit card and leave a tip. After I get cashed out decided I wanted to Try the pumpkin cheesecake so I payed for that in cash. So give me my dollars back but not my coin change. I bring it to her attention and she says oh. Then goes asking the whole wait staff if anyone had change after waiting about two three minutes I just said forget the change. I then go to my car wait about 30 minutes to get contacted that my order was finally ready. I come in order was still being bagged. I check my bag and tell her that my blue cheese and BBQ sauce was not in the bag she went back and forth telling me it was there yet it was not. Finally she gets it for me with an attitude. I get home ten mins later and my wings were short. I order a full order and a half order that was not what I got. I ended up with only 10 wings total. Although i paid for a full order and a half order.I also asked for the half order to have no sauce on them and to my suprise they had sauce on them. So my ten year old daughter could not even eat them. I opened the cheesecake and have never seen a piece of cheesecake this small in my life for $8.50. Tried calling the location eight times and no one answered the phone. I am beyond upset that I spent $40 on food that I am unhappy with and no one would even answe the phone. Also the fact that you guys charge a carryout fee to order a carryout and can't even get orders right and customer service is subpar is beyond me. An no one even mentioned a carryout fee until it was time for me to pay. I really hope to hear from management because this is unacceptable .I guess I should have listened to...
Read moreMy experiences, for reference, are primarily with the menu on takeout. I've only briefly been inside of the main bar and restaurant. The layout is attractive and the music not so loud as to be overbearing. It has a good look for an open mic night, and would be pleasant to hang out in off hours, but again. I came here for the food, to have it to take back to elsewhere to eat.
On this subject, I've now eaten Sweetwater's signature buffalo sauce wings and their seasoned fries, and I will say with little equivocation that these are among the best chicken wings I have had in the whole of the metropolitan area. The drench that they use is pungent, powerful, assails the nostrils immediately as you are ready to bite in, in that mouth-watering, eye popping way only true wings with a family recipe can have. You're not getting wings like you would over at a Buffalo's Wild Wings. Oh no. This is something different from that entirely. Those sauces are fine in a mass produced kind of way, but what you get at Sweetwater is unique. It's an experience. It hits multiple senses all at once, and the moment you're biting in, you want to devour as many of them as you can get your hands on, to suck every last juicy bit of meat from the bone. They're delectable.
Then there are the fries. I've had seasoned fries before, but the way these were made, the coating of seasoning is even, and it's thorough. It's more or less a ranch style spice seasoning, but it makes these well cooked fries just phenomenal. They're the kind of fries that no amount of helping you get is ever going to feel like it's enough. You're going to want more of them, and they really are just that good. I've had a lot of fries in my time, but these are memorable in the kind of way that would make you come back to a place.
I can't speak much to the service, but the prices are reasonable and the food is excellent. So, if you want real wings, you're not going to...
Read moreI hate to leave a bad review for a local small business but this place has a couple issues.
I'll mention the positives first. The staff was very friendly, and the burgers were delicious and large, so at least there's that.
Okay now for the issues. They have signs posted when you first walk in and also behind the bar that patrons who are there for carry-out are not allowed to sit at the bar. At first glance I didn't get a good at the sign and I thought it was a meme cause it just seems so counterintuitive to running a successful restaurant with carrot options. So we walked in and sat at the bar having never been there before, ordered two beers and my boy got a shot and discussed whether or not we were gonna get a carry-out or just eat there. It wasn't til after we asked for a menu and told the bartender we were ordering carry-out that fully read the sign posted directly in front of me and realized it was not a meme but a policy. So we continued to sit at the bar anyway and ordered food. The bartender was very friendly the beers were ice cold but my boy wanted his shot chilled and he ended up settling for a shot with a couple of ice cubes. I ordered a burger with sauteed mushroom and swiss, he ordered a burger no cheese with sauteed onions. Both orders came with fries. Almost an hour later they brought out our orders and we both ended up sauteed onions, my burger had not a mushroom to be found and by that we had been waiting so long that I figured if I pointed out the error and asked for just a side cup of sauteed mushrooms it was gonna be another twenty minutes pushing our wait for a couple of burgers to well over an hour. Mind you it was a subway evening and the place was nearly empty. Also the fries were bland and unsalted.
Overall it was a disappointment, hopefully they improve cause they got a couple things going for them but they have more things that they...
