Handels Homemade Ice Cream — Restaurant in Eastvale

We absolutely love Handels and couldn't wait for the Eastvale location to open! But each time I've gone, the staff is just not friendly. They always seem bothered once we order a hurricane. Last night was the worst though. We ordered 2 samplers and 2 caramel cone crunch hurricanes. The girl taking our order literally rolled her eyes when we were ordering. It took the longest time to make the hurricanes and when we got them, it was completely wrong. There were no cones mixed in and the ice cream tasted like a hint of strawberry. So we let her know but she insisted it was made correctly despite seeing no cones in the mixture. We told her that it didn't taste the way it should and maybe the ice cream scooper was not rinsed properly before scooping. She agreed that must have been the problem. Gross! When we asked for a new one to be made she said there was no more vanilla ice cream so she has to use a different flavor. Supposedly we took the last of it - it definitely wasn't vanilla that she served us. We asked to be refunded and left. Horrible service. I hope something changes with this staff. We love introducing friends and family to this ice cream but this location has completely ruined the experience every time. The ice cream is always good and the kids working there are usually nice, but I left feeling frustrated and annoyed tonight. I ordered online and arrived ten minutes past the promised time because I figured it was busy. I went to the window and told them I had a pick up order and told them my name. One of the girls looked at a receipt and walked away saying nothing. After several seconds, I went to sit down and they shut the window. I have no problem if they’re behind, but let me know you’re working on it!

After waiting five more minutes, I approached the window again. I asked for an ETA and they asked my name again. A different girl said “oh, it’s ready, but we’re out of one of the flavors”. There was a pause when we were just looking at each other. I said “…… ok, what flavor?” and I quickly chose a different one. I would’ve been waiting a lot longer if I hadn’t checked again. Why on earth wouldn’t they tell me that when I initially told them my name and order? I’m wondering if they thought I was a door dasher because the receipt they gave me said “DD Delivery”. September 2025 Updates - The mess is as bad as ever, they block the sidewalk with their retractable belts, forcing people to walk between cars, and continue to drag their trash out the front of the building, all the way around to the dumpster. Leaving behind and unsightly, sticky mess, and attracting flies. Seemingly without any concern. Updated pictures

I have had Handles Ice Cream before and it is good, there is no debating that. What I find extremely disappointing, is to see a business move into the community and display a complete disregard for the standards of that community. This was a clean center before they moved it, and since then, they have been dragging bags of trash leaking ice cream through the center, creating an unsightly sticky mess. Aside from the fact that they had some fly by night contractors doing the building modifications, OSHA would have had a field day. If this is how they conduct their business, I would not dare try...
