Chipotle is a great place to get a a nutritious meal for under $10. I am told all most everything they serve is organic. There is nothing fancy here. Just plain and simple dining arrangements. You get in and out kind of dining experience. The table tops are stainless steel as well as the countertops. You serve your own soft drink dispenser. I wish they had a better selection of drinks. They provide a nutritious meal, but then kind of drop the ball when it comes to a drink selection. I think if they were to have a better selection like "Panera" or the "Habit" it would elevate the dining experience a little bit more. It would support a "Healthier choice" place to eat. It's a way better alternative to fast food. It's good food done fast. You stand in a sometimes long single line where you wait to custom build your own burrito or bowl of food. It's kind of like a conveyor belt experience. You keep side stepping left, until you finally reach the cash register. Then you walk off with your finished product to select your seat. In my experiences the only thing that makes or breaks this no frills dining experience is the employees demeanor. Some have been pleasant, while others try to push you through the line and make you feel uncomfortable when you can't decide what to put on your food when they are out of something. It's not my fault that they are out of a salsa that I always use. It's not a long delay, but it makes me angry that they are getting short with me. Another instance is when they place a new employee in the "assembly line" during rush hour traffic. It just makes the experience a little stressful. Those are the only instances that I recall recently that alter my dining experience. Yet they haven't been that big of a deal to prevent me from coming back. From the moment you reach the point where you are directing your creation to the point you are checking out at the register is a mere five minutes if it's even that long. All in all it's a good place to take a large family without...
Read moreI was at Chipotle near Monmouth Mall in Ocean township NJ on Friday June 13, 2025 at approximately 7:30pm. The team behind the counter were not pleasant at all. They weren’t rude per se, but not a smile or even welcoming demeanor. As I was ordering my bowl, I heard the lady behind the counter tell the customer in front of me that there was no more pico de gallo. When I asked to confirm that’s what she said, she said “the tomatoes are finished”. I was bummed but already had my rice, beans and protein in the bowl so i continued with my order minus the pico de gallo. As I’m at the register paying for my order, I look over to the left side where the to go and online orders are being processed and I see side containers of pico de gallo being prepared. So I say to the cashier “you have pico over here though”. Her response “that’s for people that have ordered and paid already” I responded with “I don’t understand, pico is not an extra charge and I am right here in person ordering and paying for my meal and being told there is no pico” she just kept responding with “that’s for orders that have already been paid for”. I realized debating with her would be useless so I paid for my order and left. The customer service was poor at best and I will NEVER patronize this Chipotle franchise while visiting NJ again, nor will I ever recommend anyone I know to. The franchise owners need to train their employees who were on shift that evening some basis customer service. When I returned home and told my sister, who lives in the area, what happened, she was not surprised at all. She says although that is the closest location to her, she drives to the Wall...
Read moreOur worst experience at this Chipotle yet & just Chipotle in general. The garbage cans overflowing, staff was rude, they left items out of our order & things were incorrect, my food was pretty spicy & shouldn’t have been at all (Vegetarian, no meat, pico de gallo only - just why?)
We had ordered takeout from here more than a few times during the height of the pandemic & kept getting increasingly frustrated with getting our orders wrong & the food sloppily thrown together & less quality (like using the half dead yellow lettuce only & hard rice). We stopped going for a long time after that & after tonight won’t be back at all.
There was ONE guy working the entire line. He disappeared several times. Two customers ahead of me had their orders half done & waiting to be helped further. I stood there at least 5+ minutes before they were helped & then waited & waited before I could get through mine. There were other staff cooking things & other staff putting together online orders instead of finishing that & jumping in the line to help the ppl that were there. It seems they prioritize online orders over physical ppl in the store. Just overall unacceptable that I wasn’t even acknowledged, the wait time to get the food, everything else.
There was a long time where this place used to be consistently incredibly busy both lunch & dinner time with constant lines even all the way out the door, plus tables full of online orders. Not anymore. Almost no people there in the restaurant & few online orders. Easy to see why customers...
