UPDATE 1 I am updating this review to reflect my second visit. I cannot believe they thought their business model would work inside a mall location, in the food court. They do not have premade empanadas here. Everything is made-to-order. This is not acceptable. The mall is a grab-and-go environment. No one wants to wait around for the meal to cook right then and there.
The first time I was there, there was no line so I reviewed appropriately. This time was different. I was, maybe, the 10th person in line and there was a bunch of people waiting for their order. Now, I only get 30 minutes for lunch. Annoyed already, I turned and asked the two folks behind me how long they were waiting for their order. The one said 10 minutes and the other said 15. This is not remotely close to being OK! So scoffed under my breath and marched out of the food court. And as I was walking past where I see the employees preparing the empanadas, they have one person making them and he moved like a sloth. I couldn't believe it.
So, to the owner's and manager, fix your wait issue and maybe I will try your place again. This is a new place and I had to try it out. Who doesn't love empanadas. They were pretty good! I will try more so I can update...
Read moreEdit Please tell me you're reopening soon. :( And some of these bad reviews are lies. They have never been rude to me and I have been there many times and their prices are VERY REASONABLE, especially considering they pay mall rent. Through the plandemic, the prices remained the same $5 range. It is a good size empenada. Never waited too long either. The lies.
They have a location now in Monmouth Mall. Some people on here crying about spices, yet if they added them, people would cry they don't like it. Can't please everyone. I had the arroz con pollo, the "baesic" (mozzarella cheese)& a guava cream cheese one. I also went back to take home for my family. Very good, reasonable prices. Not premade microwave crap. Each 1 was stuffed per order and made. Very happy with them. Plan to try a smoothie next visit! Telling people I know as well about the...
Read moreWent here today around noon, after someone told me about this place having great smoothies. I ordered a large smoothie, which looked like a small, and it was over $11. To add to that rip off, the guy who took my order and made the smoothie was rude by not giving me eye contact and not being polite. Maybe he doesn't like my florescent skin, but he should know that there are many Latin Americans with light complexions. For instance, the famous Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez has red hair and is very pale. I happen to be a light complected Italian American. The guy is ignorant. The smoothie was good, yet I definitely...
