The ONLY people in the restaurant for lunch today. The waitress was cold immediately upon entering and just stared at us. (I had a service dog), never asked for any credentials. I asked her if something was wrong? She finally said seat yourselves. The food was disgusting....I had a chef's salad and asked if it came with salami and provolone, "she said yes". It did not....so she brought me rancid salami in a dish. They used to serve Italian Bread (good bread). Instead, it was a sub roll (old) as their dining bread? She asked if we were done and pointed to the dishes as if I should hand them to her, I said, "I'm not handing them to you" and she replied, "Of course not". NO ONE else came in for lunch. Should have been my first warning!! Check came...I left no tip & wrote, "Bad Service, Bad Food". First time in my life I left nothing! We were outside getting into our car and the waitress threw open the door and screamed, "DON'T EVER COME BACK"! Stay away! FAR away!! What a dump!
UPDATE: After the "owner's" reply I find it funny the only thing they did was try to "disprove" my comments??? No acknowledgement of my concerns or experience with their vile waitress....AND....nasty food? And no mention of your aged waitress running out of the restaurant screaming at us? Went to Illiaonos Cafe last night for our first on-site dinner since the start of the Corona19 pandemic.
As usual, the food was superb, the wait staff quick, friendly, and attentive. We have been coming here for over 20 years, and it is our "go-to" place for special occasions such as our 31st Wedding Anniverary last night.
We took the outside dinning option. The patio is nicely set up, with good distance between tables, and has umbrellas over each table that also have little led lights on the underside, so you could see without it being too bright.
The chef/owner, Joe, came out to every table, to check and see if anyone needed anything special.
They are BYOB, and provide an ice bucket for your wine if needed. You can't go wrong with any of the numerous nightly specials.
Cannot recommend Illianos more highly. We left an over 30% tip as we want to make sure that this place stays in business, so we can continue to...

We are visting family here in Ocean NJ. We were delighted with our meals. My spinish lasagna was very good, the marinade sauce danced on my taste buds it was so delightful. The lasagna noodles were cooked to perfection, not too overcooked and not too undercook. It was just excellent. My husband's veal parmesan he's told me was beyond anything he had eaten in a long time. The mushrooms were tantalizing. The sauce was breathtakingly,wonderfully, delightfully good. Yes we would definitely go here again and I highly recommend it. The prices are right in line, the service was great, she was pleasant, she asked if we wanted more, offered us dessert.
