Booking: I reserved a couple tables for a birthday party for 16 people for my mother on 12/31/2024. I booked this party with Johnnys at least a month in advance. Johnnys had called me THAT MORNING to secure my reservation of 16 people and said they only had 8 down… I was in contact with them at least 4 times about my reservation through the month and the number was never 8. They had also said our tables were going to be separated but very close towards each other (we were okay with that and they did that 2 years prior as well) (why they do that - who knows).
The waiting: I had got to the reservation and they told us they only had 8! People AGAIN, MIND YOU THEY CALLED ME THAT MORNING AND I TOLD THEM 16… when I voiced how frustrated because they called me that morning, (rightfully so..) I was not heard out and shut down by the hostess. When we were finally able to sit down, they told us only half of our party could sit down and the other half would have to be sat 15 minutes later…I asked why that is. I was immediately shut down by the hostess AGAIN and told that I was told that prior … when I was not. Mind you there is no sorry for the inconvenience or accommodations anything… they almost acted like us being there was an inconvenience to them for their mistakes and things I was not informed of. It had been about 12:20 pm(20 minutes into our reservation) and the other party was not sat down. (Why we had to wait - who knows again… the table was unused) and they were hardly next to us like I was told they would be. We had to yell across the restaurant to be able to be with our people.
The staff When we were sat, again it seemed like we were inconveniencing them over asking questions. The male waitress we had was the only staff that was decent during this whole experience. The hostess and other waitress again acted like the party I reserved a month ago was an inconvenience to them.
Conclusion: As being a waitress for many years, that’s not how you treat people especially when it’s someone’s birthday and all inconveniences being the staffs fault with petty rules.. we have had by mothers bday party for several years now and it appears like there are more rules every year for no reason ( mind you they were not busy). The food was good as usual but again it felt like just ordering it was an inconvenience to...
Read moreIf I could give it a "0" stars, I would. You ever have one of those situations where you built up expectations for a restaurant? That was the case here. Had heard good things-good food, but expensive. We invited some friends to join us as a special thanks for helping us move. We went on a Friday night. There were a few people there, but was by no means busy. While we waited for our friends to arrive, we ordered a water and a Sangria. Friends arrived and asked for a water to start. I also ordered a shrimp cocktail appetizer. Server stopped back and asked about orders-at which time we asked about getting another sangria for one of the party. One person ordered a pasta dish, the rest ordered the fish special-but two of asked if we could sub baked potatoes for the included fries. The server said she needed to "check". She came back and said that was fine. I also then ordered a side of asparagus. Food came, and we asked "what happened to the appetizer"? Server said she'd get one right away, to which we replied, "no need our food is already here." The pan-seared walleye that I received (others got battered perch) was overcooked and the portion was probably 2 in x 5 in, and 1/4 in thick. Not something you'd expect to cost $23 with a side of fries and coleslaw (same basket meal at Culvers costs like $8)! Finished the meal, paid the bill, and realized on the way home we never checked to see if the appetizer was charged or not. Also realized I was never served my asparagus as well! Called the restaurant and was told that because the manager wasn't available at that moment, they'd call me back the next day. By 6 PM the next day-no call so I called them. Thankfully, I learned I was not charged for either the appetizer or the asparagus. I told the manager about being disappointed and he simply said he was sorry. No attempt to make it right. No attempt to win our business again. I even related this experience with an email to their corporate site with no response. Johnny's won't have to worry about us or our high...
Read moreToday was a special day. We were celebrating our anniversary. We have been to many Johnny's Steakhouse establishments in the past and have been Very Happy with those experiences, so We chose to go to Johnny's Steakhouse in Eau Claire. WE BOTH DEEPLY REGRET MAKING THAT CHOICE. We got there an hour before our reservation to have drinks. Amy and Nate were both Very attentive to our needs. Thank you, Amy and Nate, for being very helpful, polite, and attentive. 730p comes. One of the hosts went to a couple who arrived 45 minutes After us, and says,"your table is ready." They had had one of those vibrating devices so they didn't have a reservation. That tells me the host station is NOT attentive to their customers. They wanted to seat us in a Very High Traffic Area, but my husband made them give us a different table. We sat at the table for over 5 minutes waiting for a server. Once she came, she had to go get the menus since the host didn't seat us with any. Didn't order appetizers because they didn't have anything we both could eat. The entrees ordered were the Bone-in Ribeye with a baked potato and asparagus and the Lobster Mac and Cheese. As you can see in the photo, there wasn't any lobster that the eye could see. His steak looked like half a portion and the asparagus was thinner than a pencil, not to mention OVERCOOKED. The baked potato was so mushy that he could smash it, skin and all, into mashed potatoes. We both decided not to order dessert because they didn't have Anything someone with dietary issues could eat. The bill came to 128.72. FOR WHAT? Needless to say, We Will NEVER GO BACK to Johnny's Steakhouse in Eau Claire. What a shame! That establishment is ruining the name of Johnny's Steakhouse.
VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED TO...
