Ramone's Ice Cream Parlor — Restaurant in Eau Claire

Not sure if they make their own ice cream to serve in cones? It was made off to me that it was a specialty ice cream parlor....it tasted like Kemps product to me in my cone...I expected something more less ordinary for the price I spent on the cone. Maybe it was the flavor I chose. I may be a little bit bias because I get another locally made small brand ice cream at music events for around the same price and it is a little bit more creamy and flavorful. I eat Kemps a lot during the year,so I was wanting something different and had different expectations probably. I loved the atmosphere and shop and staff though. Will be back for coffee because it was very good and reasonably priced. The ice cream ,if they change their brand or start making things more gourmet ,so definitely will give it a try and will be trying other things there as a threat. They deserve a fair shot as a new business. I am in the middle on the shop. My past experiences with getting ice cream and eating Kemps a lot are the reasons I probably find the ice cream quality okay for the price. I would recommend summing up all the reviews and giving a product of their's a shot or checking it out for the experience. Who knows you may find something that is your tastes. Came here with my husband and brother in law. We couldn't decide on what we wanted because we were being asked what we wanted every 10 seconds. Employees wanted to get us out the door so they could continue chatting. We were the only people who were waiting to order, so we weren't holding up a line. I felt pressured to order something quick and didn't even get to look at all of the options. My brother in law and I each ordered double scoops in a waffle cone. We compared them side by side. His was HEAPING over the top of the cone, while mine barely went past the top. Another review mentions this inconsistency as well. The owner responded with "While we're confident your next order will be perfect, please don't hesitate to let us know right away if something isn't, and we'll be happy to do our best to help.". This is funny, because when I brought the issue up to the employees, they brushed me off and said I had extra ice cream "packed into my cone". Ever since they opened Ramones has been a destination of deliciousness. Oh, the anticipation-- smelling the amazing waffle cones being made as you approach the counter... Am I right?? And the choices, and flavors and combinations of perfect ice cream goodies and possibilities, and even pies! But I'll tell you the real secret of Ramones. It's the water. That's right, the water. Hands down the most refreshing, most thirst quenching and without question the wettest water you will find in all of Eau Claire. Yes, it is wetter than all other waters. I cannot explain it any better. You must experience it. You'll come here for the ice cream--- you'll come BACK for the water (after the ice cream). Done.
