We visited Ralph's NY Italian for the first time last weekend. We parked behind the restaurant and came in the rear/side entrance and were immediately confident that the overwhelmingly positive reviews we'd seen on Facebook were accurate. It was the amazing aroma that greeted us the moment we stepped in. This was truly an immediate indication to our own senses that the food was going to be good. As we walked down the short hall to the main area of Ralph's, we saw about 8 or so people ahead of us waiting for their pizza, with some of them talking about how this was their second or third visit in the short time the place opened. So we were obviously excited when OUR names was called signaling that the pizza we ordered was ready. We decided to eat in the store at one of the tables. Our order was a large pizza (the only size pie available currently...) with Layden's sausage and mushrooms. It looked perfect - as if it were specifically made to be photographed for marketing purposes. Our initial plan was to eat half of it, then get a box to take the rest home for later. Well, that didn't work out too well as my wife and I ended up eating the whole thing. This pizza is that good, and simply cannot be topped locally. Don't get me wrong - there ARE other options in Edenton, but if you want a pizza that can feed a family, and looks/tastes the part of a true NY style pizza, this is the only option in my humble, but accurate opinion...
Read morePizza: The best crust I've ever had! The sauce could use a bit more oregano and basil. The major turn-off for me was how salty the pizza was. I don't know if it was in the sauce, the cheese, or added on top, but it was too much. Don't take my word for it though because I'm not a fan of salt at all. I've never added it to my cooking, except in soups and dumplings - even then, sparingly. If they'd back off on the salt, they'd have a good pizza. Service: The owner was nice and is quite handsome with beautiful blue eyes, but he should never reprimand his employees, for even the slightest infraction, in front of customers⁶. That's mgmt. 101. Atmosphere: There isn't any, but that's not important as long as it's sanitary and the...
Read moreHorrible Horrible. If you post a negative review you will be attacked personally and professionally. Very political and rude. Pizza is overpriced and just not good. The Herringbone in Edenton has great flavor and more affordable prices on homemade pizza! These reviews are most likely paid for. Not a family friendly environment. Go check out the owner and her very liberal America hating rhetoric! She will not apologize for the bad food, and she will attack you for complaining. Check out the other reviews here. Just more nasty...
