We have been faithful patrons of the Tamez family owned restaurant - El Patio Cafe - in Edinburg, Texas for over 24 years! Years ago, my daddy, Eutiquio Elizondo, Sr., gifted a hand made barbed wire cross to The Tamez'. The Tamez family has made my daddy's cross a 'part' of their Cafe 'home,' and it still hangs on their walls to this day! My great nephew, Christian Castillo, would go eat there as a child with my sister (Christian's grandma) and our daddy on many occasions. Christian still has vivid memories of this restaurant and of the same table they used to sit at. He was SO happy and proud to see that a 'piece' of his great grandpa was there. In memory of our daddy, we had a photo taken of the 'empty' chair, representing our daddy. Exactly where my daddy sat everyday for breakfast with family and friends. PRICELESS MEMORIES! El Patio Cafe is a family owned restaurant in Edinburg, Texas. A GREAT place to dine good old 'homemade' food...just like momma used to make! A place where you can go and be greeted like family AND feel like family!! A place that you will want to return to again and again: for the DELICIOUS food, the nostalgic feel, the smiles, the comradery, and an over all feeling of being at 'home' with family! I HIGHLY recommend you try this place out! You won't be disappointed!! #support local

I will start by saying that the breakfast here is very cheap, but the food is just okay. The huevos rancheros were just okay for $4.50 you get 2 eggs, refried beans and bacon. The eggs were slightly undercooked over medium, the salsa for the eggs was just so so, the bacon was good and crispy. I would recommend to add extra hash browns or potatoes for just a dollar and the meal might be more filling. They also have another dish for $2.75 and you get 2 eggs, hash browns, bacon and toast. The staff was not very friendly this day, the cashier's and staff in general didn't say "good morning" or "thank you" when playing, very mediocre service. Overall a okay place to eat if you want food on the less expensive side, but the quality of the food is just average. Hopefully the staff will be more friendly in the future.

I came to this café since a man on the RGV FB food group had reviewed Las Vegas Café and mentioned that this restaurant has the better enchiladas. From his opinion this café has the best enchiladas in the RGV and is #1 on his list.

However, I didn’t like the salsita they had, we were given two. One was hot and the other was suppose to be mild, but had no flavor at all. The hot salsita had no flavor either and was too spicy to even enjoy since they put so much seeds in it. The waitress was an elderly woman and seemed as if she was ignoring us in a way and just got the orders and left.

My bf and I ordered the beef and cheese enchiladas and also the nacho plate appetizer. The enchiladas we’re pretty filling, but it wasn’t really the greatest to be honest, the rice and beans were okay. For sure, the Las Vegas CafĂ© enchilada plate is way better in my opinion. But the nacho plate was absolutely horrible, it was just tortilla chips topped with burned refried beans and also kraft cheese slices that were burnt as well.

I guess the breakfast is good here from some reviews, but I honestly wouldn’t go back to even try that. It wasn’t rememberable nor good enough...

I called and spoke to Joe the owner. I asked him if the tacos were big or small so I could order multiple tacos if needed. He said they were a good size. I ordered my 4 tacos for myself and my family. I'm allergic to egg and specifically asked for no egg in my taco. I drove all the way from south Pharr because I don't know the area because I am visiting my sister and I live in Brownsville. After the long drive I get back with tacos the size of corn tortillas and all with egg. I called back to let him know about the order being wrong and the tacos being small and he said they were $2 tacos and the other tacos were more. I never asked for the price of the tacos, I would have paid more for bigger tacos had I known there was an option. But none the less I can't eat it because it has egg. Joe said have a nice day and hung up on me. Great customer service... Never going...
