Came at about 11 pm. I was the only one in the dining room, but the drive through seemed steady. Dining room was uncomfortably cold and had to find a booth away from the ac. Overall was clean enough.
I ordered a Whataburger with extra meat and some fries. Sadly, it took about 12 minutes before my meal came out, and I was about ready to ask for my money back and find a place that might be able to server fast food Burgers to the only customer that was in line inside. Then, I saw that there was a burger sitting all by itself on a tray and not under a warming light, which at that point I assumed it was mine. Eventually, I heard another employee telling the person at the counter that that was his Burger and pointed in my direction as if there were a whole lot of other people whose Burger it could have been. The burger had been sitting there for three to four minutes, and I was on my way up to find out if they planned on giving it to me, because I do not like cooled down fast food. The front counter person then went over to the fries, which I observed being the same fries that were there since I had ordered, and decided to make a new batch of fries before serving me. However, she didn't wait for new fries and scooped out the remains of the fry pieces that have been sitting in the bin for at least 12 minutes and decided to serve them to me. Needless to say, that was enough to ruin the meal between a cooling down hamburger and cool over-greased fries. As soon as they managed to serve me my hamburger, the new fries were taken out and thrown into the fry bin and a generous amount of salt was applied. I saw them take several scoops of the new fries to serve the drive-through lane. Eventually, I decided to go ask for some new fries. The counter person gave me some new fries, without any apologies of course, which were markedly better than the first batch they served. However, it still must have had some of the older fries because only a few fries were of normal length and most of them were short enough that you got ketchup on your fingers when trying to eat them. The burger was quite salty (more salty than Whataburgers I've gotten at other Whataburger chain restaurant) Between the salty taste and the lukewarm patties, it was a forgettable experience. I've eaten at many other Whataburger restaurants in the past and usually the burgers are above average, but not at this place. Drinks were the average offering. I'm also not sure why these places keep their ketchup and napkins under lock and key. I don't know why you should have to go to the counter to ask for...
Read moreI placed an order for curbside and waited 20 minutes after checking in and it was never brought out. A truck pulls up next to me and immediately an employee comes out to help him. Then the employee comes and asks what name my order is under. I tell him and a few minutes later he comes out with the trucks drinks. He then comes and asks me if it could be under another name and if I was at the correct location. Never did he apologize about anything. He goes back inside and after a few minutes never returns. So I go inside to see what’s going on. There were many employees working and yet I couldn’t get anyone’s attention. I had to say “ ma’am excuse me” 5 times before someone came to help me. I asked for a refund since I never got my food and I had to go to work. Just to be told they don’t refund orders made on the app, in store. That I would have to do it through the app( which you have to fill out so much stuff in order for them to contact you ). When asking for the refund they asked for my name. I told them my name again and they magically found my order. Still, they never apologized. Never offered to make it quickly or anything. 40 minutes after placing my order and I had to leave the store with no food, no refund, nothing. All while other orders places after me were going out perfectly fine. Needless to say I...
Read moreIt was a bitter sweet trip to the local Whataburger on 281 in Edinburg as I came here with my brother and sister , and we began talking about the old days when we would come here after school , my mom would pick us up from school and we demanded coming here because we were starving. It was the best spot for the much needed meal after a stressful school day. As far as this location, I am glad to see that they were offering a new shake that was consistent with the now revolving seasonal offerings that Whataburger has decided to bring more customers with. The atmosphere is good and welcoming, they are playing music that people in their late 20s and 30s would recognize. The food i can’t really comment on. I only had some fries and a drink this time however, but my family had their usual. My sister’s shake was mistake for a malt and they gave her a solid substance that she struggles to drink. When noticing they got her order wrong she demanded someone request the shake she ordered. After this the fries I got were pretty good , not too salty cooked just crispy enough. I was wondering if someone took some of my fries because there really wasn’t enough. I really wanna give this a 5 star but I’ll...
