La Cabaña Pollos Asados South — Restaurant in Edinburg

After siiting and waiting for.10 min I get my coffee,ok I understand.maybe it wasnt ready or maybe slow coffee maker...I get the coffee colder than than ice...ok maybe not the cold...but not hot enough to entice my taste buds...ok so I get my Huevos Rancheros...looks good so far. I get potato on the side,like every potato person I like ketchup on them...sorry we dont have ketchup. Ouch,ok. So I sat to start to.eat my eggs,I asked for.Tabasco,no hay. I ask for Louisiana sauce...No hay...ok pos ni maiz. So as I open my tortilla container..My Tortillas are hard and cold. ..Its a friday im not gonna make a big deal. Just wont finish my breakfast and.probably not come back...ok maybe only because the ladies were polite. Its usually the cooks fault or the owner who forgets to order things such as condiments.."Condiments" lol,ive been.wanting to use this word in a sentence por fin...Mrs Garfield (7thgrade Grammer Teacher) would have proud of using such a word. This hole in the wall small restaurant has authentic, homemade, Mexican comfort food. The rice and beans taste like my grandma's cooking. My hubby and I ordered a plate to share with one beef rib, a piece of pollo asado (grilled/BBQ chicken), and 2 large pieces of sausage for about $8. It also came with 3-4 tortillas. We ordered a BIG baked potato with butter, cheddar cheese, and sour cream. We had a Coke in a glass bottle from MX, and a bottled water. The server kept our bowl of homemade tortilla chips full, and the pico de gallo and 2 different kinds of salsa were great tasting. We paid about $20 (w/tip). It was enough food to fill us both up, and we took some food home. They also sell purses, caps, and earrings from Mexico. All in all, I'd say we had a great meal. It's nothing fancy, but the food was well worth the 20+...

Went here once and it was absolutely delicious, the service was great, and it was a price that was definitely worth paying. HOWEVER, couple days ago we ordered a dozen (12pc) of smoky ribs through the phone for TAKEAWAY (pickup). When I got home, I found out they gave us 11 pieces of RIBS. We literally almost paid $50 for the whole order, NOT CHEAP, and they got the audacity to give us LESS than what we ORDERED/PAID FOR? If u order takeaway, CHECK that they gave u the amount you paid for. Disappointed. Also, their online prices are NOT updated. So is best to call if you want to know exactly how much you will...
