Taco Bell — Restaurant in Edinburg

RECENTLY REMODELED 100% TACO BELL. No longer sharing space with Long John Silvers.

The new remodel looks nice. It has a more updated, almost industrial vibe with more earth tones and geared towards teens and young adults. No children's play area.

The food is basic Taco Bell. Crunchy or "soft" (flour tortilla) tacos, burritos, nachos, etc. They have creatively arranged the same ingredients in different ways, given them TexMex names to produce "specialty items" such as "enchiritos" and "Mexican pizza." Everyone this close to Mexico knows this ain't Mexican food, but for some strange reason I like it and keep coming back.

As compared to what Taco Bell excellence should be, and based on my experience, this location is below par in food quality and customer service. My tacos were half empty. No greeting as I entered. It took a couple of minutes for the employees to notice me and come take my order (no one in front of me). No smile returned the smile I offered... Just deadpan faces of zombie people... barely functional.

On the positive side, when they did take my order, they got it right, and it was made promptly. The building, dining room, and what I could see of the kitchen appeared clean.

The dining room was empty except for one tall table occupied by a group of young people who were actually talking to each other rather than texting. Nice! I would have hired them.

Will I return? Yes. Turnover at these places is high and, most likely, it will be a whole new crew next week, and I'll take my chances so I can get more of this fake "Mexican", if not...

On February 10,2019 at 6:25 p.m My 5 yr old daughter and I went to the taco bell in Edinburg,tx at 1804 West university.When we arrived we placed an order to eat in ...This taco bell has an enjoyable atmosphere it's very affordable and the employees are superb.My order was $7.57 so,I gave the cashier what I thought was $8.00 My funds were limited so every dollar saved helps...Well wouldn't you know that not more than 1 second past when David the cashier immediately gave me $5.00 back ! I asked in astonishment what was the meaning of this? He said "Sir,This $5.00 was stuck to the other bills this is your money" this young man could have easily ripped me off but be didn't! I've never seen or experienced such honesty anyone else would have pocketed my money...Its simple David is honest and because he is I will bring my family here...this is where we will feel...

thought i’d leave a review. we just finished eating and we usually go to the nolana location because it’s closer to us but every time we go they mess up the order and just plain rude or the food taste horrible there. so we decided to go further and from here in out we will start going to this location!! the girl in the drive thru was really nice and patient. you can tell they were having a great night. all the food was fresh and hot even from the drive home. food was made on point, we received napkins, and plenty of hot sauce. the fried stuff we ordered tasted fresh (nolana we had to call to let them know their oil was making the food a dark color and tasted horrible) so it was nice to have finally get a good taco bell experience in the rgv. 10/10 recommend this location. wish every shift had a good team like they did tonight. y’all...
